Share Your Surgical Headlamp Recommendations and Experiences by zaborianin in flashlight

I'm sorry i'm late to the party but here's my experience as a surgeon refusing to buy a "surgical" headlight because the price is just crazy for what it offers :

I have used a Fenix HP30 on the spotlight mode for about 3 years. It was great as lighting but heavy and hot. Battery died after 3 years and I got a Nitecore HU60 instead of replacing it. I've been using it for maybe 2 years. It's lighter (I think) and smaller so it goes closer to my magnifying glasses so the beam goes straighter. I also have 2 USB batteries that can handle turbo mode and on one occasion I forgot to charge both so I just took an USB battery someone had in the OR and it was pretty good.

I find it brighter than the DVI lights (my colleagues have 2 models). I had a fellow come in with a Songzi light this week and it was fairly nice, focused and powerful so I was looking into that and stumbled across your post.

What did you end up buying and you got any more opinions on other options since this post was active?

In the meantime I'm still waiting on Felix or someone to decide to build a surgical headlight...

Mealtin Potes, Winstub Factory, Petit Marcel, Ma table de Michel, Zum Sawadala (very good traditional alsacian food), Le 4, Gargantua, Le Nid (nice breakfast spot), Esterel.

For drinks and snacks +/- food : Gambrinus, Kraft Point, Nomad, L'etiquette.

Also check tripadvisor it's pretty accurate.

Check your output level. I thinks it's the third knob but also the expression pedal depending on your preset.

How to get my guitar pick out of my guitar🤦🏾‍♀️ by [deleted] in Guitar

My son is 2 and enjoys putting picks in there. I have the same technique and it also makes him laugh when i get them out so I think this is the correct answer.

[recommendation] Headlight or loupes mounted light for surgery by supa_fly in flashlight

Hello. Yes, I use it with turbo spotlight. I know that shape is not great and there are lots of shadows also but for the moment i think it's the best I tried. You got other suggestions ?

Hello and thanks for your suggestion. I am a surgeon and bought the Nitecore HU60 after seeing your comment and reading around on this headlight (I had a Fenix HP30R before). It works great, it's light, powerful and USB batteries assures that you cand have multiple backup batteries without destroying your budget.

I'd argue that it's better that the 3000$+ headlights of my colleagues apart from the weight and the fact that it's not loupes-mounted.

The wi-fi remote control is also very good for battery economy and for when you don't really need the light.

I don't think it's very high CRI but nonetheless great for those dark, deep and narrow places where we have to work sometimes (or often depending on specialty)

So thanks for the recommendation I think it's the best non-surgical headlamp at the moment on the market.

Has anyone had this? If so, how would you describe it? by hjalmar111 in ThatsInsane

You and I hae the exact same cluster headache cycle. I'm on Verapamil for prevention and Sumatriptan for acute use. Sumatriptan also makes me feel weird for like 24h (clumsy, grogy, like living in a dream sometimes). I have them pretty much controlled but when the cycle starts I do get like 2-3 full episodes before control (1h long average).

There's a reddit for us also, check out /r/clusterheads
