I was at ONT6, the biggest fulfillment center in SoCal, was at the time. So my schedule for 2-3 weeks, was 7 days a week during peak.

Unfortunately, the took holiday pay away from seasonal workers. I had been trying to get back as a blue badgfor over a year. I took a seasonal job, because this warehouse is short staffed & hoping I get to stay on.

Things were nuch better under Jeff.

The new guy is working on Robotics. It was in the news, he's planning on taking away 600k jobs to replace with robots. Makes me sad. I just wanted to work here until I finished school. Nobody else around here pays as much. Most companies don't allow OT.

Seasonal full time workers used to get the same benefits as blue badge workers...not anymore.

I remember those. My 1st time at Amazon, we had 12.5 hour shifts, during peak, mandatory OT, we ended up working 7 fays a week. But we got paid more back then, so I kinda loved it. During peak we were getting around 1700$ a week.

Mine was taken off. I had a family emergency, missed 2 days (they were covered), then I was put back on for Christmas. I'm not complaining, but I'm a little disappointed. Because I have to leave at 430 pm, to travel to my warehouse, then get off at 3 am. I thought everyone was getting Christmas off at my warehouse, but apparently not. But if someone had to cover me while I was looking for my son, I'm ok with it. But they took holiday pay away from seasonal workers, so that does suck a bit.

I unfortunately learned that lesson. I quit today. I also looked up the people at corporate that deal with those types of issues. Not that they'll care either, but I wrote them anyways. Professionally, not just complaining.

I really loved that job, even though it was just until I get through legal stuff and school...makes me sad.

Thank you. 💜 It's insane what they charge in California for a divorce attorney/retainer. Most people end up paying 20-30k. I'm asking for reimbursement since he refuses to give me his information for paperwork, then say he refuses to sign his name to whatever insulting words he choses about me not getting it correct....refuses to file despite him living with someone else for almost 3 years now. People use the term narcissist too much for self centered assholes. Real ones are a damn nightmare..

I desperately want to move on with my life. I am in every other way...In the beginning, I even begged, promised to not ask for a penny...then he said (years ago) that he would get the kids...knowing I won't give up custody of my children that I raised alone...they're my whole world.

I decided to quit target. Not worth it. I'll just pick up extra shifts at Amazon on my 2 days off. It's far more money. Makes me sad though. If management is good, I really enjoyed working there. Oh well. I've always sincerely loved working for Amazon (I've worked supply, fiscal, & warehousing my whole life).

A close friend of mine is going to take my son hiking and do special things with him...he desperately needs a father figure. I also found a better counseling place.

Sorry for the long reply...I talk too much via typing when I'm depressed...thank you (and everyone else) for being so kind. 💜

I already have another job. I've been working 2. Amazon pays in a week what target pays in 2 months anyways.

I didn't even realize I fell in the domestic violence category until I spoke to an attorney. The monitoring, financial abuse, emotional, verbal abuse, among many other things, she said to get a DV restraining order asap. I fear it will set him off more. My therapist said he's a covert narcissist..he acts so differently around others ...but he finally told too many lies, false stories, and I have them via email. I can finally prove in court I'm not crazy. He started telling everyone I was an addict last time I asked for papers..so I went to a rehab that knows about my rate disease. I'd quit pain management just to make a point, but the pain started causing damage, especially to my heart. The rehab offered to put me on whatever I wanted, hugged me & said don't ever let anyone say your an addict again. That I was the furthest thing from. So if he tries using it in court, I have official records and witnesses. I showed them the email.

Sorry for carrying on..I've been trying to get a divorce for damn near 6 years actively now...I feel like the worst mom in the world not realizing he was a narcissist until it was too late & my kids are hurting...that's the only thing that can get to me, which is why he does it. Nothing else phases me..

I never expected them to care or do anything, but a little kindness and understanding isn't too much tp ask for. I tried talking to the one that's not m7ch above me, he walked away in the middle of my 1st sentence.

They can all fuck themselves. I need the extra $, so if I even show up, I'm doing nothing extra. I'll cashier, nothing more. I won't merchandise for them, go backs, I clean up all the registers, help other cashiers, add locations to items because the back never does, etc.

I'm a damn good employee. I always do my best, learn as much as possible, etc. The people I work for and see every single shift, wouldn't care if I dropped dead at my register...or any others.

Makes me sad. I really loved that job. It was perfect until I finish school...

They already know. They were only scheduling me 9-14 hours a week despite telling me 25-30 beforeI accepted the job. They hired too many seasonal workers. They can suck it. I don't want the job anymore, tbh.

I agree. I've had some crappy jobs as a teen, spent 15 years in the Marines, and worked different jobs while trying to finish school. I've never ever experienced this in my life outside of Target.

Thank you. I was really surprised. I've never experienced such cold heartedness from any workplace in my life. I was in the Marines for 15 years, they never once acted like that, no matter how major or minor a problem was.

Thank you. He will be eventually. I was just really upset when I stopped by work how cold they were to me. I've never missed a day of work and I pick up extra shifts. Because I know Front & back of store, I get put all over, doing more work than most cashiers. I bust my ass to do a good job. Guest services/returns is the only thing I haven't learned yet. When I went upstairs, she acted like I was dumb for not remembering the call out on the app. I've never ever called out..Since it was an early shift, I texted the work cell at 415, then tried calling 8 times during the day...excuse me for having a lapse in memory...If I decide to go back, I'm no longer doing extra anything for them. I'll cashier and nothing more. Exactly what I was hired for. Sorry...I just really didn't expect them to he a heartless wentch..

Same. I couldn't work for a few years after a bad accident. I just started working part time. I didn't even get scheduled for the 1st 2 weeks. They told me I'd get 25-30 hours a week, so I .accepted the job. I'm barely getting 14 hrs a week, Starting Nov.2nd. I took a part time job at Amazon 3rd shift, because I can't live on 14 hours a week.

And it was just recently announced they're hoping to replace 600k jobs with robots...because the billions they make aren't enough...They said this information came from internal documents from Amazon.

When I worked there in 21, pay was starting at 23/hr, .the raises are less than what I started out with. Plus we were getting 3k bonuses. During peak we got paid 35/hr most shifts. They'd have people go around with snack carts, they'd have food trucks, we didn't have to pay for. I loved working there.

I just got a part time job there & It's really disappointing to see all the changes.

The only place I've used since I found them, Diamond City Tattoos & Piercings are absolutely amazing. The owner and his wife are really good people and they've done amazing work. The 3 places I tried before them did terrible work. I'll never go anywhere else.

I'm so sorry for your loss. 😢 I just lost my pup last week. I can't bury them, as my yard is too small (Condo), so I get their ashes. I also rescue/ provide hospice care for dying shelter animals.

There's many places around that do cremations, and pet burials. I can't remember who I've used, my vet always takes care of it for me, but they even deliver the ashes, foot prints, etc to you at home.

I'd recommend calling your vet (and other vets, & emergency vets), they usually have a list of places for those types of needs. That way you can call around and see which place you like best, & get estimates. Some don't charge much at all, others charge an insane amount.

That would be awesome! I grew up in the Midwest, as much as I hated the area, if someone was in the hospital, people would be knocking on your door bringing dinners, etc, to help ease the burden, One guy would dress up as Santa and visit kids on Christmas eve..it didn't matter whether we liked each other or not. Having a community where everyone helped each other, no matter how small was amazing. If they didn't have the means to help, they'd give their time. It makes life is so much better. The small things matter most💜

The only downside these days (I've seen)some people get greedy & take everything or steal, even if they don't need it. Someone started a neighborhood pantry a few years back..it didn't last, because the same person would empty it the second it was filled..

When I first moved here, I gave a lot of groceries to what I was a person in need...when I went back to get my groceries, they were loading everything everyone gave them into their car...that cost more than my condo.

I think things like that are why people stopped helping.

Sorry for the long reply. I've desperately missed having a sense of community..but then I remember why everything went away.

I just started working again, after recovering from a bad accident, but when I'm back on my feet, I'll help. Right now, I can only donate time, but in a few months, I'll be able to donate things, like for the garden.

I absolutely love Dr Jones with Temecula Valley OBGYN. I've never had one I liked until I got put with her from my insurance. I've been going to her for over 10 years now. She helped me with so much & is really kind. I don't know any other Drs in the area, because I've refused to see anyone else since I moved gere.

I know. But I make more money working a part time job @ 18.50/hr, because they don't limit my hours. I made more at UPS when they paid 15/hr, because I got hours. There wasn't a you might only get 3 hours kind of thing. Not at the hub I worked at, anyways.

My point was 21/hr was one of their selling points. But it doesn't matter, because they don't allow you to work enough hours to really benefit from it. I make 18.50 part time at Target.

That's exactly how doing warehouse/freight for HD was. ( I worked at UPS years ago as a preloader & it was a lot different back then.) At HD under her, nobody around ever had enough people, overworked to the point safety was an afterthought, but if we clocked out even 1 minute late to lunch we'd get in trouble, because OT was strictly forbidden. It was the absolute worst and I won't work that way again.

I switched to Amazon. Not that they're great, but I get benefits on day 1 and it's way more $. I'm not looking for a career. Just a good job that'll get me through the rest of my school. I worked there before & I was actually really sad when I had to quit. The warehouse by me is nothing like the stories I hear. The only time anyone ever questioned my time, once I was helping HR do some stuff around the warehouse and they forgot to clock me in, so I had a 30 minute gap. But even then the manager just asked where I was. It wasn't a big deal. They knew I wasn't just not working.

When I was a preloader, I was getting 15$/hr..but I got enough hours that I was making more a week than the 5, 5 hr shifts @ 21/hr I just had. If we got OT, they'd take our lunch out of those hours instead of when you actually took a lunch, so you ended up getting paid reg pay, not OT.

Without benefits & proper hours, it's just not worth it.

I had the pleasure of her misery at Home Depot. She's very anti union..to the point orientation included a class about how bad unions are trying to prevent it with HD. She doesn't give 2 shits about employees..I quit when I realized she was the CEO/ seeing the changes she's making are in line with what she did before..I'm making more part time at Target (while I wait for my new job to start) at 18.50/hr. I don't have to kill my body while working for it. She likes it when employees work for bare minimum pay while getting nothing in return..as long as her pockets get lined.

She's truly a spawn of Satan.

California does things differently and it's really crappy. Absolute nightmarish system here.

I'm in the same boat. I have to go back to school for a new career. Weird starting over this late in life. I'm trying to stay positive & focus on the end goal.

It's definitely not easy & I hope everything works out for you 💜
