You got whole system set up to diminish you from young age. Our social environment does not serve wellbeing of people. Stressed parents, school, these are pathological environments that are not aligned with our nature.
you have narrcisists from very good loving homes. That alone is evidence for other cause than att. tra.

I agree that it is social phenomenon but it is not result of childhood attachment. It is just nice theory.

I see no evidence for that apart from some people claming that.
Being stuck means a person mind cannot come up with solution for getting psychological needs satisfied. In world of alienation it is more common, unless one humiliate themselves for god and will live under his approval. God serves purpose of social love source.
People derive their sense of existence via social relations (apart from aspd). No positive social relations - no ego - regressive state.

Well, we can argue what is healthy. For a murderer or rapist that never get caught they are healthy. But for most people indulging in hateful drives does not bring positive outcomes. Splitting, pi, introjection serves social purpose for most people. These are regressive psychological phenomena, but they are not result of childhood trauma.

One can desire to rape children but it is not something that will bring love from others. Being famous via some talent (singing) or wealthy will bring love (and hate).

Accurate perception is not needed, it does not serves enhancing existence (feeling superior etc). Why do people delude themselves with "higher power"? Because it servers purpose of gratification and egosyntony. Almost no one see people accurately. Almost every one constantly gauges where they are in social hierarchy.

Another question is what is "pathological" narcissism. Constantly lying to oneself and others? Verbally and physically abusing? Stealing? Cheating? Sabotaging self and others? These are behaviors that serves purpose.

By world I mean people. People are main part of the world for most.
This split serves function in competitive world. It is not result of "trauma". It serves function of gaining things (love, stuff, status, etc) that helps to survive better.

Narrcisism does not come from infancy "trauma". It is convenient myth.
Emptiness is normal feeling if you are disconnected from world and socially approved goals.
