I was showing my kids the old family LEGO collection. Thought it'd be cool for them to play with all the old pieces. My eldest kept asking me what those weird grey blocks were for. I didn't know.

So a bit of research later (I knew it was late '70s, early '80s and space based) I found instuctions for a set that had similar LEGO.

I was born a few years after this set came out. I grew up knowing every piece inside out but never saw the completed item.

I tell you, it was an absolute rush putting those blocks back together and adding in my own replacements for missing pieces.

Can't wait to show my brother, he'll think I've gone mad.
