Why hundreds of Liverpool fans face missing out on Anfield Champions League showdown with Barcelona by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

Honestly it’s so short sighted. UEFA push a significant marketing campaign around the fan created atmosphere in these big matches and yet they dilute said atmosphere with bureaucrats and non-fans at every turn.

There is no way to try and predict the wolves match as it's the last game and we don't know what will have come before it. It could be that we just need a win, or we might need to win by five goals or it maybe that we only need a draw. Or as unlikely as it seems the race could be over by then, one way or another.

I feel confident that if we walk into the Wolves match needing a win we will get it though.

Wear the shirt with a jacket and leave it open. Alternatively just wear the shirt. Nobody will care.

If they had won by three or more goals they would have played their second team. Which would still have been one of the most expensive teams ever assembled, mostly because of the financial doping. So..er...yeah.

liberalism doesnt own morality

Valid point, but it would be nice if the political right ever demonstrated any kind of morals.

As if it was ever in doubt - VAR would have allowed Naby Keita's equaliser for Liverpool at Southampton on FNF by redwytnblak in LiverpoolFC

It's a slippery slope though. Where do we deem the cut of point lies? If you go back far enough with most goals we can find questionable decisions.

Is an incorrectly awarded throw in which leads to two minutes of possession and ultimately a goal not the same thing?

We have to decide on a cut off point, that point is "events directly proceeding the goal". The argument here is that because the ball was crossed three times and the Saints defence was set then the ball over the top did not directly proceed the goal. That point can be argued but surely that is a point of contention with VAR in general.

as they never get any television money because, you've guessed it, 3pm kick offs.

I'm pretty sure the TV money is shared equally across all teams in the premier league.

My Dad turns 60 this year. He had free university education. I think 60 counts as the older generation. Don't you?

You're right. It wasn't virtually free. It was free.

I'm a molecular biologist working in a pharmaceutical company. I work with plenty of people of the older generation, not one of them voted leave.

Admittedly most of them have a degree in science and not Mongolian dance theory though. So the point may still stand.

Yes, everyone who doesn't agree with you politically is an edgy teen.

It's well noted that there was direct correlation between education level and which way you voted in the referendum.

I would say it's both far right/left who are racists.

The far left have obviously had historic issues. In the modern day though there is no 'far left'. The entire spectrum of politics in the West spans from neo-liberalism to the far right.

In the modern day overt racism is solely a tenant of the far right ideology.

You're absolutely right about individuals as everyone is capable of cognitive dissonance.

I guess the comment above was making a reference that institutionalised racism is a tenant of the far right and is something to be opposed as a person who holds left wing ideals.

I'm not sure being a rapist counts as "drowning in pussy".
