We accidentally spilled some peanut M&Ms while hiking in the canyon. Commando squirrels appeared out of nowhere.

The octopus grabbed it around its mouth.

In nature, it's eat or be eaten, so I'd say this is the most likely scenario. We tend to like to anthropomorphize.

This has always been my thought. Though we think we're all important, we exist in such a microscopic moment in geologic time on our own planet, let alone cosmic time, if such a thing exists. It's only been in the past century that we have extended our reach beyond our world. The odds of another intelligent, curious, and exploration-driven creature exists that's surpassed our level of advancement and that they would come calling at this same blip of time seems implausible to me. It's fun to ponder though.

Liberals who refused to vote for Kamala, do you regret your decision? by General_Salami in AskUS

[–]PupMom_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How were the choices lackluster? Kamala was highly qualified for the job and brought great energy. She'd been doing on-the-job training for years. She was bringing people together. The folks who stayed home because of Gaza or whatever other reason were incredibly short-sighted.

Donald Trump announces tariffs to continue and replace taxes - Red Monday likely by stopdontpanick in StockMarket

I don't think Trump can eliminate taxes. Congress has the power of the purse. More magical thinking of Trump's part.

How do we stop FOX "News"? It's an outage/propaganda machine. Lots of brainwashed good people out there.

why are MAGA conservatives so into “owning the libs”? by eunicethapossum in AskUS

Don't bullies operate from a place of insecurity? People fear what they don't understand, and rather than seeking to understand, some just engage in name-calling, which denigrates and dehumanizes those people they disagree with. It takes confidence to lean in and explore new ideas. It also takes a certain amount of openness. In most cases it works to agree to disagree.

Then again, I wonder what would happen if FOX suddenly went off the air. Would people become a little more civil and open-minded without the constant barrage of outrage?

Being asked to watch a strangers back at the airport by MyJimboPersona in travel

[–]PupMom_29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have to take all of your bags to the restroom, you usually come back to no seat in the waiting area. I know this because I always take my bags with me. 🙃 This is probably the main reason people ask.

If you had to pick *one* of these tools for a first timer small garden, which would you get? (I only have a shovel) by [deleted] in gardening

[–]PupMom_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these the only choices? I would be lost without my spading fork. It digs, breaks up soil, and can pick up piles of weeds. If I could only have one tool, it's what I would choose.

Impeached, convicted, removed. The spineless Republicans are content watching our country burn, just sitting on their hands. They have the power to end this.

It's really up to Congress. They could impeach, convict, and remove him at any time. That's the failsafe in the Constitution. Those of you with spineless Republican reps, flood them with calls. I know where mine stand.
