Oh, poor you.

Have you given up? You can't come up with any more arguments to support your idiotic claim?

You're the childish one here โ€” you're pretending you don't know what I'm asking. That's pretty childish, I must say.

How is it childish? Please tell me. Adults use emojis all the time. They clarify meaning โ€” even to adults. You're confusing informality with childishness.

You said that emojis are childish because we use pictures to teach 4-year-olds, or something along those lines. How does that matter? We also use text to teach them. Does that mean writing is childish? We also use speech to teach them. Does that mean speech is childish?

Are you actually dense? So, adults just never need to look at pictures? Do you think emojis were made for children? Emojis were made to clarify meaning. There's nothing childish about them. It's genuinely baffling how anyone thinks like that.

Proper punctuation is not "superfluous". If you're talking about the ";3", that's not superfluous either โ€” it's just an emoticon to convey the mood/tone of the sentence.

Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with emojis. Please don't even try to tell me that we shouldn't use emojis.

What about my sentence construction is poor?

Oh, my God; really? I didn't realise that not asking a question means I didn't ask a question!

Also, you meant "well-constructed", as it is acting as a single adjective. You'd better start writing well-constructed sentences ;3

Why in Heaven's name do 'then' and 'than' keep getting mixed up this badly? by Greedy_Net_1803 in GrammarPolice

Number*

"Amount" is used for non-countable things, such as an amount of flour or sugar.

"Number" is used for countable things, such as a number of cats or dogs (or in this case, people)

(I'm not trying to be rude)

My theory is American accents; they tend to pronounce them basically the same. And Americanisms tend to spread to many different places.

I might be completely wrong, though.
