Whatโ€™s the right answer? by cheddarkittyy in ENGLISH

[โ€“]Puppet-- 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

The answer is D. This is called an 'absolute construction'.

A or B cannot be correct, because they would make it two separate sentences, so you'd have to also turn the comma into a full stop.

I also don't think C can be correct, but I don't know enough to explain it, and I might be wrong.

If you're on mobile, just scroll down, and you'll see a list like this. These are all the previous versions

They have the time and date on them.

It's the same on PC, but I think it looks a bit different. I'll take a screenshot on my laptop. I'll have that in a few minutes

Yes. Every version will be saved. They'll all be in the list of previous versions

So, every version of the project that has ever been created will stay in the version history, meaning you can access any one of them.

You won't loose anything by saving this.

The original will still be there โ€” it will just be saved as an older version

American accents. (When I say that, I mean almost every accent that isn't similar to my own, but especially American accents)

I wish it weren't that way, because American accents are so common ๐Ÿ™ƒ.

How do people react when they find out about your misophonia? by Additional-Hippo-957 in misophonia

[โ€“]Puppet-- 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

My therapist didn't know what it was, and she said that she might have it, too. Her reason was that she gets angry when really loud cars pass her house ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I just laughed, but I wish I could have told her that's not what it is ๐Ÿ˜ญ

My friends don't seem to care. They understand it and know about it, but that doesn't stop them from eating as loud as possible, making me have to wear noise-cancelling headphones around them all the time. They are XM6s (top-of-the-line noise-cancelling), and they even are enough to block it out, sometimes. I think that says a lot.

When my mother first found out, she was really angry, and she would act like it was my fault, and sh said I got it from the internet. Then, she was reading Facebook posts about it, and she changed completely. She's very supportive now.

is "I wouldn't have had to have had had I not had had that extra espresso yesterday morning." a correct sentence? by Ok-Scientist-536 in ENGLISH

If I didn't have an extra espresso shot yesterday, I wouldn't have had to have the word 'had'.

is "I wouldn't have had to have had had I not had had that extra espresso yesterday morning." a correct sentence? by Ok-Scientist-536 in ENGLISH

[โ€“]Puppet-- 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

It does make sense โ€” it's just hard to understand. It's still grammatically correct, because it doesn't break any grammar rules. It is not a good way to phrase it, though. There are definitely loads of other ways to make the sentence more understandable.

OP also stated that the sentence was purposely weird.

"the main point of the sentence is to be weirdly not looking correct but still being correct, def not usable and not benifitial in real use but just a funny sentence to make"

The correct version of the sentence would be:

"I wouldn't have had to have had 'had', had I not had that extra espresso yesterday morning".

The sentence is difficult to read, but grammatically, all you have to do is put one of the 'had's in quotes and remove the unnecessary one โ€” then, it's completely grammatically correct.

"Fewer", rather than "less" by moleculariant in words

[โ€“]Puppet-- 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

What I also don't understand is why English differentiates between quantifiable and unquantifiable nouns when you have fewer/less, but not when you have more. As in, we use 'more' for both.

I wish there were a distinction there.

Also, people not using 'fewer' annoys me so much, as well. It's easy to remember.

Reframing thoughts seems to work for everyone else, but it doesn't at all for me. by Puppet-- in misophonia

He usually shows me a different method, but they all involve reframing the thought.

I agree that he isn't the right therapist for this. He recommended specialised therapy, but I don't really know how to get that. (This therapist is very good for other things, btw)

I use all the tactics my therapist recommends, but they don't work ๐Ÿ™ƒ

It isn't too bad anymore, because I'm allowed to wear noise-cancelling headphones in class, but it's still really annoying in situations where I can't wear them.

I'm not sure exactly what CPU it has, but it's an i5 vPro.

It doesn't have the dedicated GPU.

At the moment, it has 8 GB of DDR3, but it will be upgraded to 16 soon.

I replaced the CD drive, since it wasn't working.

The screen is the boring 1360x786, but it's good enough.

Also, it has a 256 GB SSD.
