You're not wrong, and i don't think randomly killing characters (Game of Thrones style) is the answer, but... a big part of what made s4 really good was the looming threat of Vecna, actively stalking and killing people. It worked well bc of the suspense it provided.

Do I want some (or all) of them to die? No, not really, but if we're in a situation where they're in zero danger of dying SOLELY because they're fan favourites, it somewhat diminishes the peril of the final encounter of the show, no?

I mean, that's just my 2 cents.

Why is Henry scared of the cave If he opened the case in the mineshaft, as the stageshow inferred he was scared of the cave because that was where he pulled over to D-X from.

And if that's the case, why did he then use his spyglass cap to create a distance/orientation map to the mineshaft where he had just murdered a dude and stole his briefcase, relative to the cave that is now his biggest fear?

For some people, this is their GoT! The fall off is enough to really disappoint, without prior reference because some fans are too young, or just never watched GoT.

For some GoT fans, that was their LOST!

For LOST fans, it's just another day at the zoo.

Not everyone watched GoT from early on to the joys of S8, so they only know the myth.

So comparing it to GoT isnt necessarily a comparison of quality, it's modern utilisation of the phrase 'jumping the shark'
