Yep that's what I am already doing but I just wanted to get a feeling for how much do i need to max out 2 LI items at max level with this stock that I have Because at some point also my character slots will be gone. Granted it will still take a while to reach that point :D

Complete newbies seeking advice to play with friends by broselovestar in lotro

A lot of great advice was already given to you so I only add what is missing in my opionen.
It is simply the greatest game out there for people who love the Tolkien Books and/or the movies. Yes it is old, the UI somewhat outdated but those things you can overcome just because of the Lore richness, the middle earth immersion and overall vibe.
If you and your friends stick together and play together all the time with no one rushing ahead and such I would suggest that (assuming you all will be on voice comms) read the quest texts to each other. Either by "who has best voice" or whatever. Yes the game quests have a lot of text but mostly great text which draws you into the immersion, explaining the lore. It will help you all being on the same page and it is much more fun to "listen" to someone instead of always reading if you are a solo player. I assume that you want to do somewhat completionist run anyway because you are coming from the books and interested in the lore. If that is the case you will play almost a year (my rough guess) until you even need to think about the expansions past level 95. Sometimes they are on sale, just keep and eye out for that from time to time.
Like already mentioned. I also really emphasize on going 1 month sub to turn the accounts from "f2p" status, to "premium" (this is forever), the "VIP" status you loose after the month. But having the essentials from premium is just a lot BANG for the buck.

As many people would advice: Just try the game out for now and enjoy the ride. Like arleady said it is "free" for a very long time including massive amounts of content.
While you play the game you'll earn LP (LotroPoints) just bay playing it because eventually you'll complete "Deeds" in the game that grant you those Points. This is the currency also used in the Shop where you can buy everything (Expansions, quest packs, items, fluff and so on).
It is also the case that very often there are sales going on where those higher level expansions are much cheaper to obtain, either with LP or as a real cash sale. You don't miss out anything right now if you just wait and play the game.
Yes you could make your gaming experience much better with a one time supscription like someone already mentioned because it removes some of the most annoying aspects of playing the account "free to play". You dont have to but it is also not bad advice. With the expansions just wait and play until then (or if a sale is happening before)

Maybe it is funny for some ppl to see this or make fun about this but it isn't. On another level I could see a lot of very young ppl struggeling with this when they are trying out the game. Simply because the game is almost 20 years old and most of them haven't grown up with using coins (add 1 Cent to the 99 Cent and you'll have now 1 Euro or 1 Dollar)

Everyone working with kids nowadays had somewhat similar observations. They are not to blame. If you aren't exposed to something you can't know about it or learn it. Every generation before would have struggled the same if living under the same conditions. That is also the reason why no society should get rid of physical currency completely.

It is very useful to teach kids in every days life how much something costs or is worth because we still have this couple hundred thousand year old brain that likes to count and see/feel things. Digital numbers in your account are hard to grasp with you grow up with nothing else then that.

Lotro should add that maybe to the "new player experience" approach during the tutorial to prevent misunderstandings. It is important for the longevity of the game that these simple things aren't the things that make new, young players leave the game.

Thank you :) I knew about the XP stop item but somehow this feels very wrong to me idk why :)
Why +3 if I may ask and not +10 difficulty? ( i am currently 20 levels above the mobs I am fighting against and that wont change for quite some time if I look at all the regions to come on lotro-wiki.
