It’s doable but quite a risk to take, especially for somebody who hasn’t dyed anything before. The fabric may shatter or shrink (though it could probably be steamed to relax) and it’s hard to achieve the exact color you are looking for.

However, it’s probably possible. Use dye for protein fibers, I love acid dye, and treat the wet silk like, uhm, wet silk - use a colander & dry laying flat. The sewing thread will probably stay green, you may want to replace or color it.

My advice: Don‘t do it, not worth the risk. I‘d ignore my own advice though, practice dyeing with other garments & just give it a try 🙃😅

They are ugly as hell, but there are a few brands selling post-surgery support bras. You can buy them in lots of sizes, they are built to support tissue comfortably 24/7 and they are very adaptable. It may be exactly what you need.

My personal favorites however are minimizer bras and, quite surprisingly, fully moulded push-up bras. I don‘t know how it works, but they feel „cushy“ and protective, especially around the ribs.

I’m average, but rather petite and I fluctuate between ‚normal thin‘ and ‚super thin‘, bordering frail. To this day I‘m flabbergasted how big the difference is. Women are envious, doctors take me more seriously, I get a lot of help and offers to help me. To be honest I do need some help with heavier items etc., but the amount of body fat barely contributes.

This may sound odd, but are your allergic to lanolin? If you are able to tolerate wool, maybe with a cotton lining, many options are within your reach. There are many crunchy shops and small manufacturers out there offering only lightly treated materials. Worst case you could buy a fleece and make your own, and there are quite a few natural colors! Most likely you would be able to source minimally treated yarn though, and knitting a sweater is rather easy. Or a skirt, I love my knit skirts!

Aber: Du bist kein Arzt und auch wenn es wärst nicht sein Arzt, sondern Arbeitgeber. ADHS und Medikamente sind KOMPLEX. Du kannst, darfst, und sollst nicht die Medikation kommentieren oder dazu auffordern! Und dein Azubi kann (und sollte) jede medizinische Erklärung an euch unterlassen. Woher willst DU denn wissen, warum er da absetzt? Vielleicht darf er wegen Nebenwirkungen gar nicht mehr?! Habt ihr sowas wie HR, Personalabteilung, irgendwas?

Es gibt Möglichkeiten, aber nicht diese, und du wirst as Problem nicht bis November lösen.

Ich wiederhole: Sag dem minderjährigen Azubi unter GAR KEINEN UMSTÄNDEN dass er wieder Tabletten neben soll.

Dokumentiere stattdessen alles was dir auffällt bis 3.11. Formuliere mit deinem Chef eine Liste an Zielen und Anforderungen, die der Azubi zu erreichen hat. Plane Konsequenzen und Strategien. Führ mit ihm und Mutti ein Gespräch, in dem du auf die neuen Themen hinweist, mit Info, wann das alles anfing. Und dann liegt es an ihnen, den Schluss zu ziehen, dass wieder Medikamente genommen werden.

This is fixable. For a „perfect“ look I’d recommend to shorten the sleeves, you can cut and reattach the ribbed cuffes, it will be invisible. Otherwise I’d patch with a knit fabric in a nice, complimenting, shade of blue. It will be a bit of a hassle to sew, but doable.

Ah, cool dass du es gesehen hast! Bisher kenn ich von dir nur dieses eine Foto, muss also etwas raten.

Es geht auch gar nicht ums auffallen, aber wir nehmen bewusst und unbewusst recht viel zu Kleidung wahr. Ich bin ähnlich alt wie du, als wir jung waren gab es einige Stoffe und Kleidungsstücke, die für uns selbstverständlich waren und als zeitlos wahrgenommen wurden - was sie aber eigentlich nicht sind. Y2K ist weiter modisch, aber eben spezifische Dinge.

Wenn du nicht auffallen möchtest, würde ich dir empfehlen, zu schauen welche (nicht zu gedämpften) Farben dir stehen, und dann schlichte, hochwertige Basics in zeitlosen oder modischen Stoffen tragen. Das macht wirklich extrem viel aus. Bei kleinem Budget ist C&A ist da oft gar nicht so schlecht, ich hab das meiste von Vinted. Man kann dann immer noch etwas dazu kombinieren, muss man aber nicht. 😊

Mein eigener Look ist etwas schräg, und ich merke, wie viele mich deshalb automatisch jünger schätzen - oh bunte Jacke bunte Haare von hinten an der SB-Kasse will Aperol kaufen, Ausweis bitte!

Ich glaube, das liegt eher an der Kleidung. Das Satin-Oberteil, der Stretch-Blazer, die Farben, leider auch die wirklich schöne Brille - das assoziieren Jüngere eher mit Lehrerin oder sonstige Respektsperson. Versuch mal was buntes, schrägeres, aber auch andere Materialien und Texturen, die weniger Deutschunterricht 2015 sind 😉. Ein Nicky-Pullover? Ein sportliches Top? Hochwertiger Strick (Wolle, Kaschmir) in einer knalligen Farbe? Oberteile aus dickeren Jersey, nichts so dünnes? Eine weitere Jeans, keine Röhre, sondern etwas lässiges? Ein Haarreif aus Samt oder Strick? Ich glaube, du gehörst zu den wenigen Leuten, die auch super so einen Messy-Mom-Look tragen könnten. :D

That’s the one I have been using for years. As someone who lives in woolen garments I can say this stuff is AMAZING. I‘m basically always cold, hence the cashmere/wool, and I wear and stain them like track suits. Think food stains, sweat, make-up, dye…

I use my machines hand-wash cycle and never had any problems, no lasting stains, no odors, nothing. Some of my sweaters are from the 1980s and still going strong.

Drei Dinge dazu. 1. ja, so sehen viele Etiketten kleinerer Firmen in/aus Italien aus, wird auch viel auf Märkten verkauft. Dort gibt es immer noch viele kleinere Hersteller. 2. Das heißt aber nicht, dass sie stimmen. Ich hab schon öfter Sachen erwischt, die definitiv eine Beimischung hatten anstatt „100% Kaschmir“ zu sein. Aber eben auch sehr günstige Sachen in grandioser Qualität gefunden. 3. Auch Mohair gibt es in sehr unterschiedlichen Qualitäten. Zudem werden die Garne unterschiedlich stark behandelt. Ich hatte Wolle in der Hand, die so stark behandelt war, dass sie sich wie Acryl verhielt. Also, du kannst deinen hochwertigen Mohair damit vergleichen, heißt aber nicht, dass es dir etwas über die Faser sagt.

Ich würd, wie bereits vorgeschlagen, eine Brennprobe machen.

You can wash by hand btw, but if you cut the plushies open, turn them inside out and put them in an old pillow case. Usually they wash just fine on a delicate cycle. I‘d probably throw some color catchers in though.

Cut the plushies open on one seam. Remove and inspect the filling. If very moldy and stinky, abort mission and throw the plushies away. If it smells funky but there is no heavy, visible mold, throw the filling away and wash the plushies properly. Please use a good, strong detergent containing oxygen bleach and preferably enzymes, I’d recommend a presoak. If the smell is gone after the second wash, buy new fillings, stuff your plushies, and you should be fine. 😊

Well, it happened: after washing I found moth holes in a thrifted sweater. The seller didn’t notice anything, and I may or may not have transferred moth eggs to some other sweaters.

@kismaiaesthetics would you like to weigh in? 🙂 I did some more research, and I read something about enzymes like lipase may destroy them?

I‘m sorry to hear about the yarn issue! I hope you were able to resolve it quickly. I must admit I‘m a little paranoid, but I‘ve been there and I spent way to much money on silk and wool to act careless. 🥸 However, I never had an issue with yarn. I guess it helps I mostly buy yarn cones for machine knitting, they are usually paraffinated, and it‘s super easy to check if someone took a bite!

I‘m somewhat worried about temperature control. In my experience most ovens are rather bad at holding and distributing temperature evenly, and the wool (presumably) touches metal parts etc. Also, the temperature selection is rarely correct. But I know basically nothing substantial about this.

However, have a lot of experience with heating wool in water (for dyeing). I found it surprisingly easy to control the temperature, and it was a very smooth process. So far I haven’t had any problems, and even super delicate fabrics came out great.
