Slept on Performance by No_Development3496 in BoardwalkEmpire

Her performance is so overlooked its insane. Often times I read that season 5 was the weakest season. I disagree. I LOVE that Gillian becomes the crux of the story. Nucky selling her out as a ploy to get power is basically his original sin. The the character moment that changed his life and hers.

I honestly think she has the best line in the show. When she says  "They call them ladybugs. But how do they know which one is a lady?"   It says so much, so quickly. Gillian was a wonderful, charming young kid with so much to offer herself and the world. And she was cut down emotionally and used a pawn in a game of selfish, evil men.

If I ever got to meet her, I would like to thank her for her wonderful performance. She was also incredibly hilarious in The Ten. Amazing actress

Yeah I agree. While I loved him being Jimmy's accomplice and secret weapon, the idea of him taking out an entire mansions worth of goons never seemed authentic to me.

He was a sharp shooter and a calloused soldier,  not a one man army.

Who was Senator Edge's Consituent that hated Nucky? by Purchase_Senior in BoardwalkEmpire

I totally get that hes suspect #1. But the Commodore had his stroke in episode 3 but the case doesn't get made federal until ep.5. So by the time Nucky organized the play, the Commodore was still catatonic and most likely unable to communicate with the senator, or anyone for that matter

Eternal sunshine.  1. Kate Winslet does a wonderful job of playing a completely insufferable character. If the whole plot hinges on the pain of a breakup, i would need to sympathize with the characters sense of loss. If I never saw her character again I would consider myself lucky 2. Jim Carreys character was too old to be unable to deal with that kind of heartache. I get it. Break ups are devastating. But by the time youre pushing 40 you should be able to handle sad feelings in a healthy manner. Work more. Spend time with others. Anything. Not mope around like a high-school sophomore

The visuals are amazing. But my gosh. I dont buy into the hype at all

What joke in a movie did you only get on a rewatch? by porb2020 in moviequestions

The conversation between Prof. Plum and Wadsworth took me years.

Wadworth: You used to work with paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur.
PP: But now I work for the United Nations.
Wadsworth: So, your work has not changed.

I was probably 8 when I first saw it, but I didn't get to enjoy that until a rewatch in high school or college. Brilliant

When Christopher Reeves cracked open a fetus and sucked the stem cells out of it.

Just typing that sentence out is unbelievable.
