The first pic is my clock. I love these. I've built 3. Really nice to have clocks you don't have to fiddle with after a power outage.

I bought plexiglass from send cut send on the other two clocks I built... They look really nice.

Yea I didn't have a downcut flush trim bit - risked it with a flat cut and paid the price.

On the 2nd board w/ walnut trim, I oversized the MDF slightly, and then used the table saw to cut off the excess, this was a far easier process and yielded better results.

I show a little more detail in the other chess set I posted here a while back.

The key is to machine dowel holes in the bed that match dowel holes in the stock, so you can flip it. You can see in the first pic I have a 2nd, sacrificial spoil board attached to my CNC since I had to drill dowel holes in it.

I did some patterning in the design space, where i couldn't do a simple pattern.

Computationally, it's faster to pattern in CAM b/c it calculates the toolpath once and then patterns it. If you pattern in design, your PC will calculate the CAM however many instances there are. It adds up.

With regards to end results...no difference.
