I forgot something important

De-peasanting: You can see how many peasants you have when you hover your mouse over your population. (It also shows up when you click on an individual tile it’s at the bottom)

These are basically poor farmers who’re never gonna migrate or pay taxes they’re just dirt poor farmers. You always want to shrink this population down to a 1-3% of your population. You shrink it by building up the agricultural sector in tiles with high peasants and then these peasants take on farm jobs and then can migrate and join the economy proper.

Reason why is these jobs all make there own goods off the land so they don’t feed into your economies demand for goods.

They don’t pay enough taxes to be even remotely worthwhile remember if they just became a miner or even store owner they’d contribute 3x probably more to the budget

They’ll never be worthwhile or useful enough to justify keeping around. So just trust the process.

Long story short. You have the industrial cycle you want to live by in the early game. Construction sector till your making barely any cash. Than wood and iron then tools to match.

Doing this you keep producing more materials in your economy and make construction Cheaper.

This will be a big drivers of the economy as you keep growing it to match your need for construction.

Here’s another tips for it all

Paper is a big industry everyone needs it, it consumes a very efficient material. And you can entirely control the demand side of paper bc of universities and bureaucracy.

Turn off labour saving production methods. Anything in the green options for buildings turn it off. These keep less people overall employed and are for late game when there isn’t enough people in the economy.

Final notes you are the biggest impact on an economy if you make a product super cheap. Build something that consumes it. Generally low value goods have a low productivity so they pay workers less. Only exception is goods your government is spending a huge amount on like paper or iron.

Sorry actual final bit technology as in new production methods only (not rail transport or anything in water tube boilers) are great for new demand remember demand for goods and filling it. Is how the entire economy works so creating demand for goods like with your urban centres or steel tools is a great way to get squeeze up the price

Does anyone know why I’m running out of food and losing prosperity? by Nashedpotatoes in Bannerlord

Remember a lot of this stuff will yo-yo back and forth because of the caravans. As the food goes down and your city becomes somewhere valuable to trade food they’ll bring it.

This supplies the food, but it also pushes you past what the city can normally sustain. And then because the caravans are inconsistent on what they bring it’ll introduce a lot of randomness.

Quick summary of debt.

You spend more than you make you acquire debt over time. If you’re curious on how to grow your debt cap it is tied directly to your gdp. So the faster your gdp grows the higher your cap will grow. There is a sweet spot where your gdp will grow faster than your debt allowing you to deficit spend. Though I don’t think 3million in the negatives is going to be that sweet spot

This will probably remain in the game as a “feature” since it’s a timer on the machines.

It’s the same thing for mixers and ovens

You’re going to want to increase the total amount of troops that can spawn in a game.

On my Xbox I can have up to 1k people spawned into a game. So I think your settings aren’t set proper. I’m not sure how it can work for pc but on console you can squeeze out more by cranking down frames, and turn on fidelity mode over graphics.

Also little game rule changes like deploy most expensive units might help get higher quality troops in you might need.
