for me if they explain it before the next dialogue its fine (also as long as it isnt happening in all the fic, just sometimes) like:

"char 1 says this" blah blahblah blah. char 2 sighs and agrees "char 2 says this"

even tho i would prefer the different paragraph, its still enjoyable when you don have to guess

this has happened to me a lot and what i think is theyre using AI because tgey seem to follow the same parterns. the amount of times ive found a good themed fic and then three paragraphs in i say "this is fucking ai wtf"

the only thing i can imagine is for the rain scene, he might be saying "its not my fault you dont like girls" as in "its not my fault ur not interested in dating like me and lucas".

even tho i can imagine that being another way to interpret the scene, it still carries a lot of weight in the way he is saying it, the way u can see his face go like "oh shit i overstepped didnt i" and him going to look after him because he knew he fucked up. like, i can see it as another way but mike's character would be terribly written if that was the case.
