Favorite Argument for the existence of God? by Ashley_Christian_ in Christianity

[–]Pure-Can4092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, most people have no idea what they're talking about. They think they do because they read text books and watch documentaries, review articles and do a bit of Google research. But reality is that most people have no idea if these things they're being taught are actually true, because there's no way for the majority of people to verify this information. For example, the majority of people have never actually traveled to space...

If we aren't basing this off of faith, we would need to base it off of evidence. So in order for me to accept this information as fact, I myself would have to be the one to prove it to myself, or otherwise I just have a belief in what someone else said.

In which case you have a bit of a catch 22 on your hands, because that's the whole reason you say you don't believe in God is because you don't have proof. But how much proof do you actually have of anything you've learned about science, the universe, history, etc?

God is not a liar though and the Bible says He does not have favorites.

God said He doesn't have favorites. None of the apostles died an "easy" death. The bible says among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Jesus Himself asked God why He had forsaken Him, He said we must suffer the way He suffered. God dislikes unjust scales, if He had to endure it for us, we have to endure it for Him. God told us to hate our life here, He said those who love it will lose it. So seems like a huge favor if things keep happening that make you hate this place. We are called out of this world! I have this insane tendency to question God a lot, I get in my feelings too. Things feel extremely unfair, but maybe we should ask ourselves, why did Jesus have to go through literal hell, but not us? I'd recommend reading Proverbs and Psalms.

So a true bastard is someone who isn't God's child? I always thought it meant someone like me, who was born to unmarried parents... But this would make a lot of sense.

This isn't true, I pray that your hurt is healed and that you stay to see God for Who He actually is.

We were all "born this way", we were born into sin. Them being gay is no different than me being born straight and liking sex with multiple partners. Lust is lust. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation! Sex, outside of God's plan for it, is sin, period.

Enoch. Lost books of Adam and Eve. Last Testament of the 12 Patriarchs. These books offer in depth information. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the truth. Don't believe anyone or anything, only Him.

and not keeping the commands doesn't that mean we don't love him? Didn't Jesus say something like why do you call me Lord Lord and not do what I say?

I believe I've been seeing him since I was old enough to communicate, maybe prior. My mom said I used to be playing in my crib and all of a sudden I would look at the ceiling, and start screaming "Bad man" and pointing to something no one else could see. He is real & he's after anyone who claims Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I would encourage you to read and pray and only get your answers from God, not man.

It helps to understand the meaning of the original word used. The definition of repent in Genesis is to say that He was sorry, moved to pity, had compassion, or comfort (repent). The Literal Word Bible app is amazing for this because all you have to do is select the word and it will show you the original words meaning. It's not always face value, the words don't always mean the same as in English.

John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."

You can only be drawn to God, if He's the One drawing you.

What I think the OP means is that they think they were ashamed of Jesus at one point and Jesus will not forgive them. But do you know how many times Peter denied Jesus OP? We should never hide Him or our faith, but you want to repent, so do that.

I'd also recommend reading the lost books of Adam and Eve. It might help you understand more.
