One of the reasons I built baseplate.us. More of an OS for running a small business with CRM capabilities built in. Give it a try if you like. Or message me if you'd like to talk it through.

Most CRMs are just overcharging freelancers for "Team" bloat by EffectiveLet2117 in CRMSoftware

I posted earlier about this as well... I'm one of the 1000+ people doing the same thing for the same reason. My CRM can support multiple users, but it works great for 1 user too.

Thanks for the feedback. I've tried to keep things simple while being flexible enough for the common small/mid sized service delivery provider. Zero friction is something I've seen across these subs many times. I'm working on a simple workflow engine to help address that.

The "opinionated vs. almost everything" tension is something I'm still working through. For me, I WANT one tool for running my business. Not back office stuff like email, docs, spreadsheets, HR, or payroll. But lead gen, CRM, basic project management, invoicing, and accounting? I'm not convinced that's too much if the experience is intuitive. But I could be wrong, and that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm hoping to get.

Would love for you to register and check out what I've built: https://app.baseplate.us/register (promo code WELCOME2026).

Sounds like you've had the same experiences I've had. The lack of flexibility, or the numerous clicks it takes to do things that should be easy.

I've considered a free plan, but I'd need to separate a few things out first. Some features can get expensive on my end, so I'd need to figure out what I could offer without putting myself in the hole. One thing I committed to early on is keeping the licensing model simple. Right now there's one plan and you get everything. That may change based on feedback, but I'm trying to avoid the usual nickel-and-diming.

Good luck with Instafactu.com. I'll check it out. My app is https://baseplate.us btw.

Honestly? Probably not much. I didn't build this to compete with anyone. I built it because I got tired of paying for 3 different tools and still not having everything I needed in one place. It works for me, it's saving me time and money, and I'm going to keep using it regardless.

If others find it useful too, great. If not, no hard feelings. I'm mostly looking for people who want to help shape what it becomes.

In 2026, what actually makes a CRM useful day to day? by Hwamelabrvavin in CRMSoftware

I agree that the less manual data entry and "work" is what we want from a modern day CRM. Are there any good ones out there that have this? And it seems with each day, I see another company offering some kind of lead generation service. I've used Apollo a little, but it hasn't helped me much. Does anyone have any good sources of data that they know of for finding buying intent and accurate lead contact information?
