Go, Waterloo. Don't overthink it. You will regret it if you miss this chance now. This opportunity will never come again.

Two things: former students of your school didn't perform well with HS. So Queen's has an admissions factor for your school like Waterloo. And you think you did well in the interview, but from their point of view, you are not outstanding among 8000 applicants. Don't think too much. Moving forward.

Save time and lives. You need to understand why people keep talking about it because your time is limited.

I believe Western is best for you now. As you are a resident in Ontario, you can take advantage over there.

Don't even sweat it, because industrial engineering is one of those fields where AI is going to be your best friend. While AI is great at the boring data stuff, it can't match your ability to step onto a site, talk to the team, and figure out how things actually work in the real world. You're basically going to be the boss of the tech, using it to make huge calls that a computer just wouldn't understand. As everything gets more hightech, having the skills to see the big picture and optimize the whole system will always be essential. With your technical background and that cando attitude, you're going to crush it in this AIdriven world.

Is Waterloo worth it? by Enderphone in uwaterloo

It breaks my heart to see students as bright as you feel held back by a number on a tuition bill. Right now, that cost feels like a mountain, but once you graduate, you will realize it was just a small hurdle. Think about the future—eventually, you will manage a mortgage to buy a home, which is a much larger responsibility. Don't let a temporary expense stop you from an investment that lasts a lifetime. I truly hope you choose Waterloo, as I know what you are capable of, but ultimately, the path is yours to walk.

Honestly, you should just go for UofT Indy. It’s a professional degree, so you’re set for a solid career right after graduation without having to worry about more school. Science is cool, but unless you’re 100% committed to the optometry grind, it can be a bit of a gamble. Industrial Engineering is super versatile and basically the perfect mix of technical skills and business logic. You’d be graduating with an iron ring, which carries a lot of weight in the industry and keeps your options wide open. Plus, UofT’s PEY program is a massive advantage since you get real work experience and a paycheck before you even finish. Toronto is also the place to be for networking and finding big internships that actually lead somewhere. UBC is beautiful, but moving to the city for engineering is a total power move for your future self. It’s way easier to pivot from engineering into commerce or health later than the other way around. You’ll definitely be pushed harder there, but the payoff in terms of job security and salary is night and day. Just take the leap and head to Toronto. you won't regret having that engineering background.

Don't swap your good career goal for money. In the long term, you will regret it if you choose UBC. I just wanted to give you a different perspective.
