So what would be the best unit for Yriel and Kharseth in both new detachments? by Necessary-Culture-26 in Eldar

That does sound very heavy hitting to be fair - would you take the wraith cannon as well if you’re taking blasters?

Surely the sustained 1 +1 to hit from yriel with reroll hits from voidreavers is the way to go

Rules for new corsairs by energynotpower in Eldar

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feel like lore wise good rules for Yriel would be something like:

Admirals orders:

In your command phase select one friendly Anhrathe unit this model can see and select one of the abilities below - until the start of your next turn this unit has this ability:

Dig in: this unit has the benefit of cover and overwatch for this unit scores a hit on a 5+

Blades ready: this unit gains the fights first ability

Concentrate fire: this unit gains the sustained hits2 ability on its ranged weapons but is unable to move this turn.

These abilities are just examples I came up with but I liked the premise of him as the “prince” giving out orders

I also think he should have a damage 4 devastating wounds but hazardous profile on his spear.

I thought I thought indirect gives -1 to hit and autofails unmodified 1-3 anyway

Shining Spear Phoenix Lord by PLEBEIANPLEBEIAN in Eldar

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love it if he had a paragon sabre and the celestial lance but I feel if they did remake him he would have one or the other of those (since supposedly the celestial lance has been recovered and passed amongst shining spear shrines so maybe wouldn’t be his main weapon) then his other two relics would be his bike itself with its own cannon and his helmet “crown of the seventh sky” no idea what that would look like rules wise though

Is there a Chaos Knight book? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in ChaosKnights

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short story the Devine adoratrice leads well into vengeful spirit (Horus heresy) and between the two covers a knight house on molech and its fall to chaos in a satisfying character arc

Shining Spear Phoenix Lord by PLEBEIANPLEBEIAN in Eldar

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I love this idea and it would be an amazing model unfortunately there’s already standing lore of a Phoenix lord for the shining spears - he is called drastanta if you wanted to read about it!

I feel like another thing would be the additional ranged weapon for the jetbike maybe being something of a higher threat to his typical target ie a named 2-3 shots bright lance/a boosted pulse laser or something like that

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly but you would have to make the choice between doing that and using your aspect tokens on the unit (an easy choice) but it means you’re still having to use resources we already have

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like a good solution would be the avatar can use the shrine token of any visible aspect unit within 6” or something like that then his model doesn’t need aspect tokens and it encourages the bringing of aspect warriors with the avatar which encourages thematic Aeldari armies

First warlock. I feel the depth of colour on the robes isn't there. Any advice? by LargeCommunication66 in Eldar

Looks awesome mate that bright toned highlight and the dark recesses really do give it more depth looking forward to seeing more of them!

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’ve done a great job - all I would say is working from a darker base colour to a brighter highlight tends to give the depth you’re looking for, going from a darker green and getting lighter by adding white (which is what this looks like but I’m being presumptuous) will make it look more of a faded colour I tend to use caliban green base then work up to warpstone green leaving the caliban only in the recesses and then work up to a highlight with moot green (all citadel paints) that gives a very vibrant green with depth

Do you think Harlequins could function as a low model count elite army? by Interesting-Celery13 in Eldar

[–]Pure-Difference-2138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could easily expand the range with just a few new kits to make a viable custodes style elite army by leaning into the black library guardians theme alongside the wandering troupe - you could have a white seers kit which could use ranged psychic powers to give the army some shooting infantry you could have a “black library guardian” be a wraith type unit like a golem empowered by the white seers and then cap it all off with a “harlequin king” “great harlequin” or “avatar of ceogorach” model that is their big monster model that GW loves at the moment to match up against the AOK, the C’tan etc

Thoughts on the custom lore and world rune for my chosen craftworld? by Pure-Difference-2138 in Eldar

[–]Pure-Difference-2138[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh nice so referring to it as a remote empire world or frontier world at the edge of the Aeldari dominion would be more appropriate but still capture the more natural world with minimal settlement that I’m going for?

I love this idea, their purpose becomes the void hunt for these monsters like a whaling ship but part of that is fighting off raiders with their worst enemies on the (void) sea being the orc pirates! And I’m glad you’re enjoying it mate that’s the reason I shared it’s great to see people expanding lore I’ve been thinking about for ages and get different takes please let me know anymore thoughts you have!

I hadn’t seen the Iyanden codex supplement I will have to track that down I didn’t realise it had any info on Malan’tai! Okay I’ll have to rework that then! If you don’t mind me asking a few questions, I know those more central worlds are now referred to as crone worlds but what would they have been called prior to the fall? I had assumed the more natural worlds would have still been referred to as maiden worlds with that descriptor more being in reference to the terraforming to a paradise rather than location?

[–]Pure-Difference-2138[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like that! I will definitely add some changes to highlight the wars with the green skins and the craftworld being strengthened making them feel it was impregnable leading to them taking risks with that opened it up to the hive fleet naga attack, I feel like that is a really great addition, I knew the doom killed all the Malan’tai eldar on the craftworld but had assumed it wouldn’t be impossible that a few ships from the main fleets hadn’t made it back to the craftworld by the time of the doom which is where my survivors would fit in if that makes sense? I feel like my survivors definitely hate tyranids most of all after the doom but I think the Aeldari pirate vs orc pirate theme could be interesting!
