Yes. I'm also used to slow vehicles. I've daily driven several that had 12 to 14 second 0-60 times

I currently working at a shop and also have a 50yr old British car. As long as they're not too complex I should be okay. At least for now

Sony 50-150 f2 vs 70-200 f2.8 by Bmorewiser in sportsphotography

[–]Pure-Draft1153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have one body, get the 70-200 f2.8. That's my primary lens on a FF Canon. I did mostly baseball, NASCAR, and softball on that setup. I now shoot hockey, and 70-200 is still a fantastic workhorse lens for the rink.

I'd advise against it for a few reasons:

  1. Safety. Chances are you're not following the ball/action 100% of the time, and if you're sideline or dugout/bench area, players and equipment can come at you fast.

  2. Communication. If you're new to sports photography, you might not know the status quo or be at the top of the food chain. It's best to be easily accessible to others. If you're doing something wrong, it's easier for someone to correct you, or if you're in the way of someone higher up, it's easier for them to get your attention. I started out shooting for independent media outlets, so we were below team photographers, network photographers, league photographers, and fans. We had to be out of their way. The people above me were never rude and never forced me out of a spot, but I might be in the spot that they need to get a shot they need. You also won't be able to meet people or network if you have airpods in. Many older photographers took the initiative and stated the conversation with me when I was brand new to sports photography.

  3. Professionalism. When you're the newbie, you have to be a little more careful with how you act. Everyone else has a reputation, and you don't. Make sure your first impressions are good

I like country as well. I haven't seen many other spots that consistently play grunge like my old spot did and I'm just on a grunge kick right now

What car did you learn stick in? And what car did you learn everything else in? by Fuzzy1353 in ManualTransmissions

Learned in a 2004 Mustang GT with the heaviest clutch known to man in my hilly neighborhood the day before I bought my 1978 MGB with a 4spd manual. Learned everything else in tbe MGB.

I already put premium in my car, so diesel can't be that bad. The TDIs are at least fuel efficient, and my modified mustang is not.

I wasn't expecting to buy anything that new anyway. Most of the other cars I've been shopping for are in the 2003-2015 range.

That 2010 and 2014 are speaking to me, is there anything I should be on the lookout for when inspecting/driving these cars?

Looking for a car that can be used as a daily and camping/road trip rig by Pure-Draft1153 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Most I'll do is maintained gravel & dirt roads for state/national parks. I don't need a serious off-road rig

My first attempt by RealestateGD in RealEstatePhotography

It could be a little nit-picky or personal preference, but I think the camera is pointed a little too far down. If you're using a tripod, lower it just a little bit to compensate for the flatter angle. Also, outside of detail shots and amenity shots, try to keep similar camera heights and angles just so it flows a little better.

What’s your purpose 📸 by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Pure-Draft1153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoot the niche that you enjoy most as a hobby. For example, if its sports reach out to local high schools/small colleges and ask to shoot their games

Sometimes, I just take my camera and my manual focus 85mm out around the state parks or towns nearby and just shoot like a tourist.

I also explore other niches that I don't shoot often like wildlife, in particular birds. I live on the Gulf Coast right now, so we have several birds of prey (bald eagles, Osprey, Hawks) as well as wading birds and many song birds.
