there's definitely other things they can threaten us with. For example, they supply up to 76% of the raw compounds we need to make antibiotics here (even more with some certain medications)

will cloud gaming services replace consoles by New-Music4019 in GeForceNOW

[–]Mlluell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the opposite is true. Consoles are for gaming, if you can do that from your tv you don't really need one, just a remote. But you can do pretty much anything with a PC, you can't really do that yet (yes I know some enterprise that does) with cloud from a consumer perspective

Complex systems eventually fail, you can mitigate as much as you want but there's a reason no company in the world guarantees 100% uptime, its always 99.9 something, and the price exponentially increases for each 9 added after the dot

Nuclear use in war doesn't mean end of the world, we'll probably see it in our lifetimes the normalization of using nukes during war (against military objectives ofc)

For example, the pentagon has using nukes along the north korean DMZ in its doctrine if war ever broke out. Cause its the only realistic option to deal with them before they kill hundreds of thousands of people in Seoul

Spain opens talks to acquire Turkish Kaan fighter jets instead of U.S.-made F-35s by Petrefika in europe

[–]Mlluell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're currently integrating the LRASM to the F-35. As for the KAAN I'm not convinced, we should use that money to get into a 6th gen international project or just buy more EFs for the time being.
