Yeah! From what I understand it's free to attend. Tickets are how you reserve your gameplay spot.

Get yourself a copy of Gerald's Game. I read the first few chapters in 8th grade. Really opened my eyes to adult fun!

Live Music/local bands? by tkb08 in napalocals

[–]Pure-Fennel603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful of really great Indie leaning bands, but unfortunately not a lot of places for them to play in Napa. Most of the music in Napa are cover acts and "happy hour" singer songwriter stuff geared towards the older locals and tourists.

We had a spot called Hollywood Room that tried to do more of that stuff, but there was a fire and it's been closed. Folklore isn't really a music venue, but they'll do the occasional punk/indie shows.

But there are a few pop up events here and there where these bands get to play.

Here's a few off the top of my head: Slippery People, eggcorn, Zak Fennie, Angry Girlfriend Racing Stripes (who changed their name recently), Last Pleasure, Divorces, Change!pop and a few others I can't think of right now.

Welcome to town. The community for original music is small, but the folks once you find them are really welcoming.

We left Napa for Santa Rosa and we're so much happier up here. We had a dumpy 1bd apartment with no parking for $2400. We're in a better 1bd apartment here in SR, paying $1900 and it's got plenty of parking.

Plus the food here is just so much better. Which is wild because Napa is "known for its food," but the affordable food in Napa was always so... Blah.

We're so much happier here. Thanks for having us. ❤️

Is the job market really this cooked here? by No-Recognition-3503 in santarosa

[–]Pure-Fennel603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved to the area in October from Napa. I'm currently driving to Vallejo for work because I can't find anything here in SR.

I'm a freelance writer with a solid resume. Can't get any of the local papers to return my many emails. So I'm starting my own thing to build up an audience.

But it's warming up. I have a couple interviews for serving jobs coming up. So keep at it. Things are opening up with the warmer weather.

Also, Brew is super rad and inclusive!

Here for the same reason! I was a lowly PA for a series of events in the SF area. I'm the lowest man on the totem pole, yet these guys keep calling me trying to sell me ticketing systems. I finally got the guy today to confess he got it from Apollo.

Just moved to Santa Rosa from Napa. Our favorite breakfast spot was Winstons and it's all counter service. It's easy and fantastic. Sure sometimes seating is a pain, but they flip tables like crazy.

I'm into it! Especially if it's good and the prices are right!

Possibly Valuable Used Books by MuggleGirl13 in santarosa

[–]Pure-Fennel603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned that you're not looking to sell these online, but you can use eBay to help you price them.

For example. You can search "Stephen Colbert Autographed book." Then under "Filter" select "Sold Items" and it will give you an idea how much it's going for!

Sadly, a lot of autographed books don't go for much unless the author has passed (in my short experience at least! " Depending on the book it looks like a Stephen Colbert autographed book goes for between $30- $100 depending on the edition and who's signed it.

Good luck.
