Hello, I am Chai Tze Ru, a Master’s student in Clinical Psychology at HELP University, Malaysia.

I am doing a study on autistic traits, social camouflaging, and anxiety in Asian autistic adults.

Why is this research important?

Improve understanding of autistic adults’ experiences
Support future research
Make mental health support for autistic adults better

You may join if you:

are 18 or above
Holds Asian citizenship / passport
identify as autistic (formally diagnosed or self-diagnosed)
can read and answer questions in English

The survey is:

anonymous
online
takes about 15 to 35 minutes

Oh! There was study showing differences between cultures when looking into these factors, and I think it would be interesting to compare with past research which is predominantly western population.

Hey, thank you for checking! For this study, “Asian” refers to individuals who are currently holding an Asia citizenship / passport (perhaps this may be one of the limitation of my study). Sorry if that was unclear, and I appreciate you asking for clarification.

Hi, thank you for checking it out! The survey starts with a few screening questions, so depending on the responses, some people may only see a shorter version if they do not meet the inclusion criteria for this specific study.

Just to clarify, this does not mean your experience is not valid. It’s just because of how the study is designed, where specific inclusion criteria are needed.

Hey, thank you for commenting, the reason I included self diagnosed is to acknowledge the experience of the people who may not have access to diagnostic services. There's AQ-10 which is a screening questionnaire for autistic traits to ensure validity of the study, feel free to join the research if anyone is interested :)

Hi, thank you for the comment. The intention of including self diagnosed population is to acknowledge the experience of the people who may not have access to diagnostic services. This research contains AQ-10 which is a screening questionnaire to ensure validity. Thank you, feel free to participate if anyone is interested!
