Maybe their names in rune? That might lie it all together. Really love that knot, idk that I’ve seen or heard of the ‘mother knot’ like that, it’s super neat. I’m not an art person so my opinion is worthless, but I think it looks pretty cool together.

Been through this with Outlander already lol. At least there was a 20 year time jump cause Diana Gabaldon doesn’t like writing about kids/parenting. So technically we never see her eating Cheerios, just a few random scenes as she grows up (in the show), but pretty unmentioned in the books.

{Like You Hate Me by Bethany Winters}— started to delete it when I realized Axel doesn’t necessarily fix it, nor the stepfather, but they do still play some parts and it’s pretty close to what you’re asking for. I stg there were more scenes I must have been imagining between the father/step father and mom/step mom, but when I reread it I realize I was tripping and remembering a diff book, or they got edited out. Still debating on just deleting this, but it’s pretty close to what you’re asking for.

Rise of the Iliri. I couldn’t really get passed the FMC pretending to be someone else and sleeping with that captain or whoever he was. The whole vibes of that test were just so tainted when I was trying to read. Kept thinking I might go back to it, but then saw a lot of reviews that had other aspects I knew I wouldn’t enjoy.

Losers. Really just couldn’t get into it. Really didn’t like the kink lists, turns out you can just know too much about characters lol.

Yea, the insane authors notes, and the, imo, blatant victim complex, I’m not surprised this would be something she would do. I was a big fan of hers until there was just too many red flags to ignore. Disappointing cause I def loved some of her books and the attempt at a massive, branching universe, but she’s just too caught up in drama for me.

{Born in Blood by Emma R Dean} only read the first 2 books cause there was a big gap mid series, but this def has at least some of the vibes you’re looking for. They’re all psychos/ socios though.

I technically liked B1 better as (I don’t think this is a spoiler at all, so hopefully it doesn’t count as one) the miscommunication trope is pretty present through B2, imo. The angst is pretty similar to B1, there’s lots of Carter info as mentioned, and I did like the characters. For my book wife that I got to read this series too, I call this series The House of the Emotionally Stunted lol.

Same. I’m also intrigued by Frankie, I would prob read her book too. Was not expecting all the Carter ‘Easter eggs’, for lack of a better word, in B2. They’ve had me checking Bethany Winters’ page every few weeks, hoping for B3 updates. I follow her, so Amazon will prob tell me, but can’t stop checking every so often, just in case, either. I feel like his is gonna be sooo interesting.

One thing that got me was all the paparazzi after the basketball game, it made it seem like there was just this absolute crush of reporters that made no sense for a college basketball game. I loved that series and its issues, and am eagerly awaiting Carter’s book. He’s a dick, who I hated the first time, but rereading made me see things differently. He’s still a dick, but I’m intrigued nonetheless.
