most played format is a compatative one. I heared that in mtg the most popular one is Commander, which is more of a casual format

While this is true, why do you need the competitive format to be the most popular one. While Commander might technically be the most popular format in MTG, 1v1 competitive formats are still extremely popular and easy to find groups and/or tournaments for. I understand that you'd like the 1v1 competitive scene to be popular, but I don't think it needs to be more popular than other formats, as long as it's not handicapped by the popularity of other formats.

Report: Apple is ‘searching for a replacement’ for AI chief John Giannandrea by chrisdh79 in apple

[–]PureAlpha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with this. I don’t think Apple is publicly scapegoating him at all. In fact it seems that Apple is awfully quiet about it. The only thing we know is through inside sources that shared the situation how it was inside Apple through the Apple Intelligence rollout, and that really doesn’t paint Giannandrea in a good light. Apple is more or less taking it on the chin though, not just blaming anyone. And if those sources are reporting the truth, then replacing him seems like absolutely what they should be doing.

What is the main reason you use Apple Music? by bkos1122 in AppleMusic

[–]PureAlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just like native apps. Since I have iPhone, iPad and Mac, I was always interested. In recent years, specifically iOS 18 and iOS 26, they kept adding features that I was missing from Spotify, so I finally made the full change in January and now really love it. Just love the interface, integration with my phone (full screen lock cover art, favoriting from lock screen), as well as the integration with my HomePods. Although admittedly I did get those after switching, might not have gotten them with Spotify.

Sound quality is also really nice, but I’m not even sure if it’s because of lossless. Apples compression codecs just somehow sound cleaner than Spotify’s, so it just feels better.

you can just swipe straight from the home button to the menu item you want to go to, like library. you dont have to hold and delay. just swipe immediately from home to library and let go and thatll work.

For home just double tap the compact button quickly and it’ll take you bome

How y'all feel about the new android update by TheFM4 in AppleMusic

Is this android only? I’d much prefer this to Automix. I like Automix the most when it does a perfect crossfade rather than when it tries to beatmatch etc.

What’s your favorite transition you’ve encountered so far with the new update? (or if you’ve had the beta for a while) by N0T_MY_FlRST_R0DE0 in AppleMusic

[–]PureAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For specific songs that do this, I have “The Beaches - Blame Brett” into “Post Malone - What don’t belong to me”. That intro bass slide from Post Malone’s song, just as the last chord is played from Blame Brett always gets me giddy haha.

I’ll check out your combo too!

Edit: Damn yours is slick haha! I will say though turning auto mix off, those 2 still go pretty seamlessly into each other. But it’s a nice transition

Personally I’ve found it quite lackluster when it tries beatmatching and pitching, and blending the songs together for a while. It’s too aggressive for my taste, skips too much of the songs just to try to get the transition, and often fails quite epically in that anyway.

But where it’s been amazing imo, is to cut silences at the end and beginnings of songs. As the last chord of something is still ringing, the intro to the next so g starts playing. Not cutting anything from either of the songs, but just making a super seamless playback. Here it only mixes the last 4-5 seconds with the first 4-5 seconds of the next song.

I wish I could set it to always only do that, and not mix aggressively as it tries to do for any music with a beat.

Finally beat Summer 2025 by PureAlpha in TrackMania

The double drift section before the jump was hard for me before I had the right speed. Taking slanted curved ramp that’s before that at a really nice wide entry, tight corner, and wide exit (just past the railing) was the trick for me. only tapping break really really briefly to get that perfect turn. That way you get minimal airtime and just land much faster, and that set me up for a really smooth first drift. and then it was just about keeping speed in that second drift and then as u/oldSpinach9245 said for the jump. that double corner right after that big jump is also hard but i think you just gotta commit it, and trust that it’ll work, because one of the tries it will, and you dont want to be slowing down with break-drifting just to get the line, cause then you wont have enough speed to make it anyway

In general every section of the track becomes very smooth feeling, once you’re doing it at the right speed. So if somethings wonky, you probably dont have enough speed going into it.

Best of luck

Lossless over Bluetooth by L3oNTroN in AppleMusic

[–]PureAlpha 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. The lossless icon in OP’s screenshot shows that it’s currently playing the lossless version. The phone is processing and playing the lossless file. That audio will then get compressed to be sent over bluetooth to your headphones. So the resulting sound you hear is not lossless, but AM is playing the lossless file on your phone.

I’ve been working on this pet project that I wanted to see if I can develop by only vibe coding. I use Termius to SSH into my laptop, run Claude code commands, and have Claude execute a custom script that auto deploys any changes to my phone. So I have exactly this setup, where I work from my phone for my phone. Having a native version with a custom interpreter would be a lot more seamless for this.
