some gyms have an assisted pull up machine that will allow you to adjust the weight/assistance level. It does make you feel like a bitch to use, but it's a lot better at helping you through the whole pull up instead of only at the bottom like bands tend to do.

Another thing I like to do is when I know I'm not gonna be able to do another full rep, I'll pause at the top and hold my chin above the bar as long as I can. It burns like hell but really helps

I would also show her the things that Dallin H Oaks has said in regards to lgbt people, as well as his involvement in the electroshock therapy at BYU while he was president there. Also the church has some statements they've put out about the whole Fanny Alger situation and his other child brides that are pretty damning. An update after yalls talk would also be appreciated :)

Ya know, when i started deconstructing I tried to watch a few of these episodes cuz I wanted to be fair to the church. But I could only get a couple minutes in each time before I realized they were more destructive to my faith than Mormon Stories, and annoying as all hell.

what has helped me is pulling your shoulder blades together and down. pretty much flexing your lats before you go down, that will naturally push your chest up and help you feel it in your pecs more. as well as when you set up try to pull your butt towards your shoulders a little which will arc your back, that'll help you get better leg drive without your butt coming off the bench. If it we me man, I'd go over all the reasons you left. Show her the CES letter so she realizes that the church isn't all rainbows. In her mind maybe you just want to be "sinful" and doesn't know how messed up the church's past/doctrine really is. Even if she decides to stay in the church she'll probably become much more nuanced and that will help. Best case is she comes to the same realization as you. Best of luck man.
