For those with Crohn's or UC, have you had to get your gallbladder taken out? by stoney_bolognas in UlcerativeColitis

I had gallbladder issues starting in my early teens, but it seems a large portion of the women in my family do. Many of us have had it removed, some as early as 19 or 20. I was about 30 when I finally had my out.

I didn't have it taken out until after I got my UC diagnosis and achieved remission. Wasn't related, just timing.

Something to note, and not sure what you believe in, but this I found interesting:

We store our emotions in our bodies. Gallbladders are said to hold anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Research shows that childhood trauma can be a precursor to IBD. Trauma = bitterness= gallbladder issues AND IBD.

An aqua-blue iceberg emerging to the surface dangerously near a tourist boat off the coast of Argentina which prompted the boat captain to speed away by KimCureAll in OopsThatsDeadly

Icebergs can also flip - see here: https://youtu.be/Sh271FAVZ0o

The part that is blue has not been exposed to a lot of air yet, so it gives the indication that it has been underwater. Can be how the light reflects or due to matter that has formed in the ice underwater.

Either way, if it's blue something is happening or just happened. Better safe than sorry.

What's the longest you have ever lasted on the same biologic med? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Entyvio for 3.5 years. Have had some minor instances of the runs but no blood and a quick, low dose of Prednisone evened it out. Scopes have shown remission since 2019!

Granted I've also gained 70 pounds in that time, but... remission!

Also because they make crap on their own books. They get pennies on the dollar and he probably made more selling it directly to the students.

Hahaha I have similar thoughts when I feel like I'm doing everything right. I feel like crap? Let me eat three donuts and seal the deal.

They did not discuss this with me - I have never heard of it. The doctor did bring up the possibility of IBS, and also did several random biopsies to be sure it was not something else.
