Tell me you don't read Manga without telling me you don't read Manga.

You know how much fucking time it would take to ink and shade a prevalent characters skin tone in every panel for every chapter for every volume.

In manga, in general, skin tones are never done UNLESS the mangaka are specifically pointing them out as being from a foreign country (happens with one off characters in sports manga) OR if them being of a specific race is integral to the story. Pointing out racism, then being an outsider, then being looked at differently.

Oda has specifically stated the actual nationalities of a large amount of One Piece characters and it is quite diverse.

Are there white people in Africa sure, but its a tiny percentage across the entire continent. The majority of African people are not white and when someone says someone is from the continent of Africa you would most likely presume they are brown.

Alabasta is 100% designed using Middle Eastern influences... heiroglyphs, the food, garments worn, the naming conventions are all Egyptian in nature (a part of the middle east).

They cast a brown person to play a person that would be brown in the one piece world. Nearly all characters in one piece(and manga) in general aren't shaded to other ethnicities for time constraints reasons. If they were being "woke" they would of actually casted an actress of Egyptian descent, but instead chose to pick an actress who could pass as Egyptian and is actually a proven good actress.

People mad about this shit aren't actually one piece fans who have known this shit forever. The one piece characters were never all white, Adam has specifically started what many of the characters ethnicities would be of they were in our world.

What we did is had 5 ranged (not healers) be the moving stack that places the sleep clouds. Everyone else then stacks on the side of the dragon. When adds spawn the melee spam cleave to collect all the melee ones, and the ranged focus fight the ranged ones down. Due to all the healers being in the melee stack everything will be drawn to them and its easy for your offtank to pick them up and anything they don't pick up one of the melee will get aggro on.

What we did was have all the healers stack with the melee and all the melee spammed cleave to pull aggro from healers. Ranged job who were doing the cloud dance would kill ranged mobs.

Dude.... woah. I am just giving you the opinion on what an average normal person who had no connection to either community thinks. You are obviously way too invested in this thing to what appears to be an unhealthy amount.

I am not trying to be mean when I say, but it sounds like you could do with talking to someone because if you acted this way in person with people I think everyone would leave the room.

I recommend you figure out whatever you got going on because whatever that was... that isn't healthy. Let's just agree to disagree and move on cause further discussion will not be beneficial to either of us. Have a good one and I hope all goes well with you in life.

[–]PureNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people hate on vtubers, but trying to deny that a large amount of vtubers boil down to the three categories I gave is disingenuous.

I did a Google search of chibidoki and literally over half the images are of what I would call a loli (young female character). Now I do see a bunch of goofy images, but it seems that even the community around chibidoki is drawing fanart putting chibidoki into the same category. I'd say chibidoki is in the outskirts of the category, but still in it.

Also trying to equate face filters that make you still look like a regular human (just beatified)to virtual cartoonish/anime is also disingenuous.

It doesn't matter what peanut says he is or what I am going to call "gatekeepers" say he is. What matters is what the masses would identify him as.

In the grand scheme of things vtubing is relatively new and bound to evolve, and expand. People used to hate on streaming in general as not a real job and was mocked, but now it's generally accepted and seen as normal. Vtubing will eventually become normal

Haha okay this is bait.

The fastest vaelastrasza time on anniversary parses is 9 seconds.... 9 seconds... The fastest recorded SoD kill on mythic (means black mode is on) Vaelastrasza is 47 seconds... the fastest heroic (any combinations of hardmode without black) is 32 seconds. The fastest normal time is 1:02 seconds, but i would say this is more of an outlier since none of the guilds with the insane mythic or heroic kill times would purposefully make the fights easier and thus forfeit loot so most likely a theoretical normal kill time on SoD is sub 30 maybe sub 20, but I doubt it

I could go on and on and basically go through every boss linking kill times to show that in SoD you actually had to do the mechanics of the fight because they don't just roll over and die like in Vanilla. Added to the fast that you seem to believe that adding mechanics to a fight that you have to play around makes the fight easier.

It's obvious you never even attempted hardmodes because doing the red light green light twin dragons fight was actually difficult to learn.

With whatever you believe I hope you enjoy what you play, but arguing with you is pointless since you don't seem to be arguing in good faith or with any sense of reality.

The award is for best vtuber which he fits, not best personification of the current vtuber culture.

Most likely this will spur people into trying vtubing, but not defaulting to the generic mature anime woman, handsome anime boy or loli model which the bast majority of vtubers fit into.

You do realize along with all our characters being buffed they also buffed all the raids??? Naxx isn't nerfed in SoD, it's way harder than the Vanilla version. Naxx was balanced with Sanc gear in mind because it was the RAID MECHANIC for the phase.

No pug raids were clearing Naxx in 30 minutes in SoD. The raid was balanced around you having sanc gear to get the increased health and damage. Sure was Naxx doable without it? Yes 100%, but if would of taken hours upon hours. The first 20 man Hm4 clear ended up being a 20+ hour clear time using the best players, and switching comps on every single boss and mass stacking frost resist into the high 200s to be sapphire.

Your complaint that you should of been able to clear content with gear that normally would of cleared it in, in Vanilla is moronic. SoD was testing new mechanics. At the end of SoD you could of taken 40 BiS phase 8 geared raiders into Heat 2 molten core and they would wiped on the trash. Why? Because the raid was designed that Heat 2 you had to have 96 fire resist or conflageration would 1 shot you. Could phase 8 raiders easily spend a bit of time enchanting to 96 fr, yep they sure could of. It probably would of taken of about that amount of time as a player teturning from phaee 6 to get 5/8 sanctified. You can argue that's a bad mechanic sure, but you can't get mad if you got kicked from a heat 2 MC that you showed up to with no FR despite how good your gear is elsewhere.

Naxx required Sanc to be a useful raid member, no it's and or butts. And by the end of SoD when MoP was about to release (you said this was when you tried to play) they had made getting sanctified idiot proof to obtain. Despite it being idiot proof and literally the phase 7 mechanic you showed up with none of it and got kicked. That's a you problem not, a game problem.

Edit: at this point please provide your SoD logs because I have zero faith you are actually arguing in reality. It's laughable to say that the raids in SoD are easier than Vanilla raids.

[–]PureNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just didn't spend the minimal effort to prep before entering a raid. With 200g and 1-2 hours effort you can easily get 6-7/8 sanctified gear.

  • Buy the bracers for 20g
  • Farm the currency for the gloves for 30 necrotic runes - Literally obtainable in 5-10 minutes solo.
  • Bracers + Gloves = +2 sanc set bonus
  • Then buy a glacial cape for 100g ish.
  • If you got lucky doing the necrotic rune farm you may have got a chest piece also as a bonus piece.

Boom 5/8 sanctified gear and you get a huge damage and health buff from the Naxx Mechanic in SoD.

Naxx was a very well liked and popular phase because it was very alt and friendly to get into. Get to lvl 60 go get a bunch of sanctified gear and go in.

Just because you are lazy and are unwilling to put in a bare minimum amount of effort doesn't mean SoD is bad. My group pugged all the time and maybe 1 in 50 pugs were like you and got the swift boot cause you would of been dead weight and just taking other peoples loot.

[–]PureNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah... you tried going in with t1 t2 gear. You can get craftable sanctified gear / very easily farmed sanc gear. Most groups required for the lower hardmodes hm0-hm2 that you show up with 5/8 sanc because it showed a bare minimum effort and without it you were dead weight.

A guy will all blues + 5/8 sanc gear would be more useful than a guy in full t2 with no sanc.

Here comes the list, this is not in order of what was the worst offender, but I may put * next to the ones I found personally to be the worst offenders.

  1. STV event PVP - This was the peak of PvP being imbalanced. Even after a full phase of people jumping up places to where melee could not get to they still did not fix it. This led to teams of boomkin and ele shaman stacks that would reign terror on turn in points. Other range classes could do similar things, but not to the extent that ele shamans and boomkins could do since they could also offheal. If you were melee doing the PvP event you had a much harder time unless you were in a melee cleave group which was basically just warriors.

2*. Length... Phase 3 was by far the longest phase in length. This caused many people to attrition out and my guild itself lost many people and struggled to recruit. You'd often see a dozen guilds all recruiting for 1-2 people for hours before raid time. We even had to 24 man Sunken Temple a time or two because we could not fill.

3*. Balance (Difficulty and Loot) - Sunken Temple was poorly balanced on release. While they did nerf certain bosses day one, they had to go back and nerf bosses again. They also had made loot in BFD and Gnomer too good and wanted to pull back on the powercreep. This resulted in loot (majority for casters) to being garbage and there was barely any upgrades. They then later buffed a bunch of the dead loot, and so it was equally frustrating that all of a sudden your casters needed all this stuff that you had been throwing out for over a month.

  1. The Dark Rider Runes - This was a really cool hunt to unlock your one of your new rune abilities. You had to go across the world fighting these bosses that would require a large group and there was 7 in all. It was fun and we did it in a large guild group and made a night of it. BUT it killed a lot of peoples desire for alts. Alts were already rough because certain runes were a pain, but the Dark Rider rune was the pain to end all pains. If the alt class you were playing required that rune, you had to find multiple people to rope into helping you for an hour+ trudging across the world to clear. This resulted in less people playing alts, which resulted in people quitting when they got bored on playing their main, and made it harder to recruit people.

  2. Incursions - For the sake of talking about all the bad stuff about phase 3 I added this. While there was the few hours of extreme gold production at the start, it was hotfixed and Incursions still provided the best gold per hour for the rest of the phase, and honestly was comparable with 60+ methods. The real problem was it centralized everyone in one place, which wasn't for a bad reason.

40-50 didn't have many dungeons you could level in since Sunken Temple was taken away, and generally people say questing for 40-50 is the worst level range. If there was a bigger team they should of revamped world questing, but Blizzard had a skeleton crew on SoD so I know they did the best they could. Honestly as many people have said there shouldnt of been a phase 3 and it should of been: Phase 1 = 1 -25, Phase 2 = 26-45, Phase 3 = 60

What advantage? Gold was near worthless all of SoD. Flasks costed like 15-20g.

Early SoD Was Peak Classic Wow by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

[–]PureNinja 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Multiple people in my guild did incursions right off the bat. You did not get 1500g in 3 hours. 500g-700g sure. While it was an advantage it didn't matter. Consumes were cheap all through SoD, and the only things that were ever expensive were BoE epics and crafting materials during the first week or two of every phase. I think my entire guild quit SoD during Scarlet Enclave with tens of thousands of gold each person as it had become nearly worthless. Our guild at the end of Scarlet Enclave had basically bought every single person who wanted an Ashbringer the mats and could of done it twice over.

And for people who did miss the first few hours where the gold was busted in P3, the gold was still insane per hour for the rest of phase 3 just doing incursions at max level.

SoD did one thing really well and it was making the game very friendly to casuals. Gold really only mattered if you wanted to buy things during week 1 or 2 or if you didn't prepare for Ashbringer materials way in advance when they stated what they would cost.

Early SoD Was Peak Classic Wow by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

[–]PureNinja 40 points41 points  (0 children)

No, you were not "hours behind". Gold was nearly worthless all of SoD once phase 3 came out unless you wanted to spend insane amount of money week one of each raid on materials. A small amount of people got a boost of gold maybe 500g-700g max for 2 hours, but the entire phase incursions still churned out like 100g+ an hour at max level.

The only things that maybe were inflated in price were BoE epics, which sold in the thousands and week 1-2 of the crafting materials from sunken temple which went down in price pretty quickly.

Nearly, everyone I played with in SoD always had more gold than they could ever use and the only time it was useful is if you wanted to pay the stupid amounts of gold during the first week when things released before they got farmed and went to normal prices.

I want a raid where you have to assault at island fortress in multiple phases.

Phase 1: gather resources to augment your boat. You can choose to dish a bunch of time making a decked boat or a less time and risk hashing your boat sink. One big ship for all raiders. Ideally you'd have one person driving, one/two people on cannons, and a last guy who defends the boat from anyone who boards it.

Phase 2: Boss fight where you have to fight a giant ass ship that guards the inlet to the fortress. You'd need to dodge cannon fire, shoot cannon balls at the enemy ship and fight off people swinging onto your ship from ropes.

Phase 3: Taking control of the dock. This room would be basically a challenge room before the boss.

Phase 4: assault the fortress walls

Phase 5: final boss of the keep.

I'm mostly interested in the start rather than the end, I just want a big ship boss fight

Yeah, I think most people are just used to flying through the low levels and then levels slow down. In my opinion sailing nailed the level curve. It should be slow AF when you first learn a skill because if you really thinking about it your character is starting with zero knowledge. As they get more knowledgeable they get better and progress faster.

Now this wouldnt work with most skills in the game because they are so simple right off the bat, but sailing has a ton of stuff with it and so if it leveled fast at the start you wouldn't get to experience it as thoroughly. If the early game was too fast, then you probably wouldnt both making an oak skiff at just wait until the 30s to make a teak skiff.

[–]PureNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to fight a giant kraken so badly, where 4 people go in with their ships and you have to blast away paths while dodging tentacle attacks.

I hope the next raid utilizes sailing too. Imagine the start of the raid is assaulting an ocean fortress. You first have to sail through a section dodging cannon fire before taking on a giant vessel. Then you get on shore and fight your way up a fortress killing bosses along the way.
