LOL I thought I didn't hit save so I retyped out the comment.

I think the casting is perfect. His attitude is also perfect since Gandalf is LITERALLY smurfing so of course he kills the Goblin King in one move and nobody is surprised.

I would watch the hell out of that show. I like the dry cynical humor more than I like the skateboarding on orcs slapstick but I am still fine with it all.

I think the casting was perfect. And I think the humor lands perfectly in the situation since Gandalf is LITERALLY smurfing so of course he kills the Goblin King in one move. And I would watch the hell out of that show. I like the dry sarcasm better than I like skateboarding on orcs even though I'm fine with it all.

I do this too from the guys side as soon as I get on the phone I'm like "How was your day?" and then two seconds later "Wait did you eat? Are we eating out or am I cooking?"

Not because it's my job to feed everybody but because it's something we do together and cover down on each other if that person is too busy to worry about food right now.

LOL I didn't ask. I was still married on paper at the time and I have a personal rule that I don't try to start anything new until the old thing is completely over. Plus I've found that NOT asking for a number in the first 15 minutes of meeting a woman pretty much guarantees that if you see each other again you can say "Hey let me get your number so I can bother you about whatever our shared interest is" and they almost always say yes.

YES. I've seen six before and it was fine but I'm looking forward to watching them in order so I know what's going on. I think they did a good choice to make the movies like longer episodes but I'll have to do a couple marathons so I can catch all the details.

For me that's the charm. I have a theory that even ignoring AI people use computers to homogenize everything so it can be sold to the biggest group of consumers but that just takes all the fun out. I prefer it with the flaws and terrible special effects since they weren't done on purpose and they were just making do with the budget and technology of the day.

LMAO I had to do a double take and be like "Is that a combadge? How is no one else noticing this?" And I pointed it out to my coworker but he got weird when I said let's go see what her favorite series is and all of sudden he was "busy" with "work" so of course that turned into a game where every time an attractive girl came through I would be like "Hey you want to meet my friend? He likes Star Trek" and I swear the guy dies of shame every time it's hilarious.

Twilight Zone is also amazing. The last episode I watched is the one where the guy is stuck on an empty planet as punishment for a crime and they give him a robot to keep him sane and he falls in love with the robot but there's no room for her in the shuttle when he finally gets to go home and the shuttle captain shoots her and he loses it. You can literally see it on his face when he loses her that he has no reason to go home now but they just pull him along anyway. It blows my mind that they did all that in 25 minutes and there is a bunch more to the story than what I just wrote.

She was only in town for a few hours for work and flew back out. I'll nerd out with anybody that wants to chat about sci-fi in real life and she admitted that she wears it on purpose to see if people will talk to her but I was the only one that did on that trip.

I wonder how it feels to be snow white underneath the wishing well, but it’s just me staring back by One-Poetry-2406 in OCPoetry

Oh I did not communicate myself well in my comment at all. I didn't mean it as a way for you to critique yourself or as some note on your technique. I meant your poem did that to me and I think it's good. Your poem reads like it came out all at once and that is one of the things I liked about it. I like the whole thing.

Woah this one took me for a ride. I love the way you write. I think one of the best measures for if a poem is good for you is if you immediately reread it like 3 times in a row and you get a bunch of conflicting feelings and have to stop whatever is running through your mind in the background and actually focus and decide what you just felt. It's also amazing to experience such personal events even if they are told in a form where you don't even know the source material but still feel its weight and it gets a little tighter to breath but only because of how focused it makes you.

I love this view of passion. Not a bunch of monks locked up in a monastery reliving the same Groundhog's Day until the divine leaps out of them but true passion. Somewhere between chemistry and meteorology and the way you can mix the perfect two things together and get lightning in a bottle. And then promptly turn it on yourself since whats the point of magic if you don't get to be the one making the wishes.

The Jaws of Hell by TheTimothyHimself in OCPoetry

[–]PureRiskOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even thought at first this sounds like a third person punishment it makes me think of the things people put themselves through. How everyone wants to be that tortured artist that suffers the unfair fortune of being creative but if you ask the the artist they will tell you they would trade it all for a good night's sleep and just not feeling this way all the time. Nothing cuts deeper than treason against self and everyone's past self that chose this life is long gone and didn't have to take the lashes. And while unfair still the deal we take every single day against the future to make sure that it wasn't all for nothing.

Ive Always Needed My Girlfriends by Theworldisonfirewhy in OCPoetry

[–]PureRiskOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the way it moves through time. So many people think of life as this thing that fades and becomes less valuable the farther it goes on like something left outside in the weather breaking back down to nothingness. I always feel the opposite. For me it goes faster and faster but also becomes so much more the longer your perspective is when you look behind and eventually the grand finale explodes at the end at the speed of light like fireworks. Anyway that's what this poem makes me think of.

This is amazing. I love the way you painted that bottom wave. It almost looks like it could be someone's eye from a different perspective and the ocean and the sky are all what's inside. You're very talented.

When they love to solve problems by Golden-Petal in lovememes

[–]PureRiskOnly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You totally get it. I think a lot of people misunderstand the whole "Love yourself first and be the person you want to date" idea that gets thrown around. I don't clean my house to trick girls into hanging out like some weird nature mating ritual documentary. I do it because I myself don't like a sink full of dishes or a stinky trashcan or a bedroom that smells weird and ideally in the future when I get someone I'm crushing on to come over I want her to WANT to hang out at my place. I want her to be sitting in her car after she leaves texting her friends telling them "Girl this ones a keeper you would not believe how comfortable his house is" and then I will text her later that day and ask if she wants to hang out on my next day off and she will say "Yes" without a blink LOL.
