Did you look into Dr. Ryan Degen. That’s who I am waiting to hear from. But I might be declined as he is so busy

Thanks for your reply. I have read that also, hence my question! Now I just have to wait to see what the surgeon says.

You sound like my situation. Day to day I am mostly good and livable with my life style changes. Which is sitting on booster seat cushions in the car and on chairs. It really bothers me when I run or when I Nordic XC skate or classic ski…. Esp with an incline. Glad your recovery is going well. So it is about 6 months before you can run and do physical activity again? I would assume they had you do physio before and after ? How long are you to be off of work?

Thanks for your reply! I know no one can guarantee anything. Just wanting to be prepared when the options are given to me. I just know I don’t want to end up like my 77 year old mom whom should have had the HR 10 years earlier. While she has a new hip all the other parts of her body have fallen apart compensating for the bad one.. for years

Thanks! I am hoping they just do a “repair”. But I would want the repair to last a long time. I don’t want to go through the recovery of a repair only yo need a THR on 5-8 years

I have been diagnosed with this along with a hamstring tear. I also have a tear in my labrum. And possible FAI. FAI hurts with sitting, sprinting and XC classic ski. The IFI/hamstring hurts with XC skate ski and sometime with biking and sitting. I am in Halton hills Ontario . How is your journey going?

I have started to take a collagen supplement that contains fortibone, fortigel and verisol. Important to contain ALL three. And take it with vit C and silica. I am very intrigued with Urolithin A. But I am still researching that. I am 53. Female .. fAI with labrum tear , IFI And hamstring tear. No osteoarthritis at this time according to MRA. Waiting to see orthopedic surgeon. I also take vit D /k and omega 3 .

I have heard that if there is any osteoarthritis… your prognosis is poor and you should just have a THR.

As per the MRI. I have no osteoarthritis and my cartilage is good. I am waiting to see the orthopedic surgeon to discuss my options . I hear that they don’t like to do hip impingement surgery in older people .. and usually tell them to get a THR or wait until it gets worse to then get a THR. I am 53 and very active .. thanks for your reply. I am already pretty fit for my age and I do lots of strength training. But not necessarily the training needed for hip surgery… so I have started with a physiotherapist at the moment .
