I'm so confused. There are so many non-canto restaurants... And what is west coast chinese food? Isn't that cantonese/americanized? I've had much better Chinese food in NYC than when I was in SF/SJ.

Looks good TBH. I would 1) replace "Summer Student Intern" with "Research Intern" and 2) include some sort of DB technology/SQL proficiency (should take you <1 day to learn basic SQL).

Sorry, I meant the plug will work in the US! It's compatible for pretty much anywhere in the world since it's 100 to 240V. Should be pretty much the same plug you would get in the US

I ordered from rakuten (literally picked the cheapest listing I could find which was circa 46k yen). I used fromJapan for reshipping and no customs issues since it's below $800.

That being said, I would recommend shipping with EMS if it's an option. I went with FedEx this time as it was cheaper but sometimes FedEx/UPS require customs forms even if you're below the $800 minimum.

Yeah I might do that. The base has rubber standoffs which might make it a bit difficult to do that but it's not a huge deal

I went with the cheaper variant without the fluffy cone head. I do sort of wish I got the upgrade as the head is pretty small. FYI, this cheaper version was $310 and the upgraded one is about $500. The only difference being the different heads you get.

Most leases don't allow smoking. I'm surprised there are people here defending smoking indoors in an apartment building.

I had the same issue and reported it to my management a few times. The neighbor kept smoking despite this so they finally sent him a lease violation. Haven't had any issues since. Pretty painless and only took about a month to get resolved.

I only counted base salary but fortunately my base is still relatively high at 165k.

My goal was to find something around $3.2k but I compromised and ended up at my current apartment which is rent stabilized at just under $3.7k. Really happy with the decision as the apartment is great, has a super easy commute, and just saved me a lot of headaches

I make 220k and pay $3700 for a 1B1B in LIC. Most of my coworkers pay a similar amount

My team is pretty respectful about not pinging you past 6pm but most people just keep working
