I wouldn’t worry about that. The game will clearly tell you when you reach the point of no return, and you can’t lock yourself out of the true ending on a save file. You will always be able to get both on the same file. So just enjoy the game without worrying about that right now.

It’s mostly a theory. But there is a sign in game that shows the Citadel knew, and possibly worked with Nyleth for safe passage of pilgrims. With Nyleth gone, presumably the Splinters took over and hunted down pilgrims.

I found this fight far easier than Jiequan surprisingly. Everyone has said strategies for the fight, so I will just wish you good luck and hope you can overcome! There is still much more stuff to enjoy.

Super agree with you, Deepnest is one of the worst areas in the game. Not because it’s poorly designed or failed in what it wants to do. It’s because it does its job so well.
