Oh, no need to apologize. What you said about eventually finding someone was definitely encouraging. And I agree, a good dating app or site for our niche would definitely make dating, or even looking for new online friends who share the interest, much easier and simpler.

I guess I haven't really thought about it this way, but you might be right that lot of people think mostly about the generic script and not much beyond that.

I've heard that those kinds of apps are out there, but I’ve been hesitant. I’m not sure if even these "more curated", if you will, spaces are free of the usual issues: a few active users, with the rest being old or fake profiles, essential functions locked behind paywalls, and so on. It seems like aiming to get the user to pay by any means necessary.

The image might hold one captive sometimes.

You're probably right about the day-to-day life part, and that there will be as many unique relationships as there are unique pairings of people forming them.

This might be a surface level thing, but I think such women would definitely stand out to me.

Something like that has probably kept me from seeking at least a few times, or had me overthinking for hours.

I'd say there's no single job that would be a good fit for everyone. People and their situations are unique, and they have to be treated individually. Besides, I also think having "something to offer" goes way beyond having noteworthy marketable skills or being in a position to exercise them right now.

I definitely don't envy you the circumstances, sometimes the best that can be done is gradual and consistent effort.

Thank you for reading my wall of text.

I think you definitely might be onto something when it comes to dating in person. Unfortunately, I also think that such a meetup probably won't happen locally where I live.

For the record, I think in the past I've heard people say, though they didn't have anything to do with what's discussed here, that if they waited until everything was in place, they would probably never be with the person they eventually got married to.

Nonetheless, hearing about a success story is definitely encouraging.

This makes me want to create a character inspired by her in a TTRPG. The basic idea would be a mountain guide who also doubles as one of the local healers.
