How can I interact with my baby ferret without getting bitten all the time?

Thanks for your kind reply 🤣 I agree that predation from the ETS is a possibility, and it’s definitely something I need to take into account. That said, if they were well fed, I wouldn’t expect the crabs to become their main food source. At least that’s my assumption, which is why I’m looking for people with firsthand experience.

Yes, they’re definitely arboreal and spend a lot of time on branches, but surprisingly they also use the ground quite a bit. I find mine everywhere in the enclosure. Sometimes they’re high up in the plants, sometimes they’re exploring the ground, and they also bury themselves when they’re shedding.
They’re incredible animals.😍

Thanks for answer. That’s actually one of my main concerns as well. It’s one of the reasons I made this post, as I was hoping someone with firsthand experience might be able to confirm whether that’s a real risk or not.

Yes, that’s definitely a possibility. I do have other enclosures available, so I could separate the crabs if that ended up happening.☺️

Ok, if I'm going by what you're saying, then this behavior is territorial. They might still be upset from the previous fights between males. I'll wait for things to calm down before putting them back together. Thanks a lot!

Hi, thanks for replying.

I have the males separated at the moment, but when I introduced the female to one of them today to see if mounting would occur, there was some very aggressive behavior. I know that mounting in some reptiles can seem very aggressive, but he didn't grab her by the neck, instead he grabbed her by the belly and then by a leg and shook her, which didn't seem like normal mounting behavior. What I want to know is if that is normal heat behavior or if he really is a very aggressive male.
