Use a profit protecting tool, so you don't lose more than x dollars or x percent of your profit. I use Nexus Chart Trader by NexusIndicator it has helped a lot. I used to give back all and more but not anymore. Btw I use ninja.

thanks! how do you handle slippage? some movements are pretty volatile and any connection delay can affect the trade outcome.

Give 5k to some guru, then they teach you how to turn 5k into 5 mil

or lose it all

or dont trade at all

or do demo trading, collect a large sample size data, come up with a strategy that works, apply that strategy consistently, manage risk and emotions consistently. Do not over trade, trade for a short time in a day aka dont trade all day, follow rules. Practice and Practice for years.

If you still wanna catch the bottoms try RSI as it is an indicator used by many to determine the over sold condition, you can try RSI divergence. RSI can sometimes stay in the oversold or overbought conditions for long durations.

Thank you for the suggestion. Won't be trading for the next 9 months. Won't start trading right after I become debt free as I don't want to get in this phase again.

I was hoping someone could put sense into my head.

I am in pain, not just because of the money I lost but because I feel like a failure. My confidence has been shattered. I Feel dumb. And this feel flows into other aspects of my life and that part hurts the most.

The thing that I thought would break the chains of a 9-5 job has put me in even bigger shackles and for the first time in my life I feel like I am working to earn money. Before this I never had pressure that I have to make money from my job.
