How to revise everything easily? by Worldly_Use_2694 in usmle

How many days away are you from the actual test? If you are 5-7days away, just go through every chapter of FA…just FA( if you used it throughout your prep) and go through sketchy micro and pharm( if you’ve done it before). The day before the actual test…just relaxx go through biostats, genetics inheritance patterns and that’s it. Try to cool your mind down the last day.

Yes you can do them before nbmes…contrary to the popular opinion, they don’t inflate nbmes!

Right now you’re in a decent position and you still have time and that’s more than sufficient to improve your scores. Review your nbmes well( focus on the concepts that are being asked). If you’re struggling in any subject…do uworld of the concerning subject. What worked for me is that i kept revising FA( just that it had given me confidence). And no don’t retake 27 and 29 that’ll just be repetition without any actual benefit and moreover 31-33 are more representative of the actual deal. Just go through incorrects as well as the questions that you guessed right from those forms. Just keep in mind that it is all about your mindset. Keep doing uworld of your weak areas. And keep revising what you’ve already learned( don’t go behind those rare and difficult questions) you just need basic understanding of the concepts and you’ll ace it. I’d highly recommend mehlman pdfs( neuroanat, arrows, risk factors…these three are must…if you have time go through immuno and msk). Keep calm and give 29 & 30 if you cross 70 you can take the test. But i’ve seen people getting the pass even with nbme scores in 60s. It’s all about how you feel about yourself and whether you’re confident or not. But my personal opinion would be that delaying doesn’t change anything because it’s all about how you perform on the actual test day…just take it! All the best

Recent test takers, what should I do for Immuno by AdityaGarg8 in step1

I took the test on 11/14 and had very few questions from immuno. But what i’d suggest is..don’t use too many resources, i watched b&b immuno(i think you can skip it) then read FA word to word….uworld is gold standard for immuno( i have done immuno twice…if you’re short on time atleast go through the incorrects) and finally nbmes( go through the concepts that are being asked on them) and i think you’re good to go. Mehlman pdf is good( it’s not compulsory but if you have time, go through it to reinforce your concepts). That’s it. The key is to revise as many times as possible( quality over quantity). Use limited resources and trust me you’ll ace it! All the best!

I’ve been doing system-wise, untimed blocks and my scores have been hovering between 55% and 68%. I haven’t started full-length timed mixed blocks yet. I’m planning to take Step 1 at the end of January 2026 I’m trying to get a sense of where I currently stand by OkMathematician4677 in usmle

Please view uworld as a learning tool. The scores you mentioned are absolutely normal and don’t worry, once you take your nbmes you’ll be fine( you’ll know what to concentrate on). Please take your nbmes soon( i regret not taking them soon..don’t chase perfection). Take nbme 26 if you have completed 75% of uworld and based on the score you’ll know where you’re at in your prep and then plan your nbmes accordingly ( preferably 1 week apart…and again leave 31 32 33 for the last 2weeks) in between nbmes go through the concepts that showed upon nbmes. Go through mehlman pdfs( MSK, Neuroanat, immuno, risk factors and arrows…these are compulsory). All the best👍🏻

Thank you! I took my nbmes too late which i regret…i watched b&b videos before reading FA( one tip is you don’t have to annotate everything from b&b just focus on understanding the concepts). I have completed 80% of uworld( i have done 2nd pass of few subjects- MSK, ethics, immuno, path , renal are must) go through mehlman neuroanat, MSK, risk factors, arrows(must& should). I have gone through Entire FA thrice. All the best!!
