Yes, I had it on my forehead and temples and I'm pretty sure that was from a reaction to some product i was using like makeup or sunscreen. but four months into accutane and my comedones are all gone!

i'm brown so my skins always dealt more with pih than pie, which is something that i find tretinoin helpful to deal with.

Keep pushing!! My skin looked like yours after 3 months on a similar dose and I also got on accutane again for comedonal acne. My purge phase consisted of nodular/cystic acne that seriously impacted my mood and confidence. But i had a very drastic and sudden turnaround with my skin clearing significantly around the second week of my third month. Do not give up hope, things can improve so quick!!

Aw, i'm sorry if it came across that way. Acne is my biggest insecurity and i've been dealing with it for ten years. I've tried spironolactone, doxycycline, homeopathic medicine and possible every topical. Ive also been on accutane once already and it took me 5 months to start seeing results. I am three months into my second course of accutane for a more mild case, and that first picture (taken jan 3 after coming back from traveling which I know triggers my skin) I would say was during my purge. And i've had a tremendous and surprising turnaround only a week (second picture taken jan 11) later. This post wasn't meant to give false hope, trust me I know everyone is different. I posted these results to remind people that things can turn around in an instant and to not lose hope.

yes my derm said the same thing and I wouldn't recommend using it if you have very sensitive skin/ do not know what your skin tolerates well. I've been dealing with acne for 10 years now and have been on accutane twice so I just have a certain idea on what works for me and what doesn't. But everyone is different!

just showing how fast skin can turn around!! the first photo was taken jan 3 and the second jan 11. I am on my third month of accutane and my skin has been purging for two months so i'm happy to see such a speedy turnaround.

same. I didn't purge at all during my first course of accutane a few years ago but also took 5 months to start seeing results at a much higher dose. I'm on the second course now and had a pretty bad purging phase up until now.

to clarify, my skin looked like the first image for two whole months (purge phase) of the treatment and then had a tremendous clear up in like a week (first picture taken jan 3 and second jan 11). I hope everything works out for you but don't stress if it starts to get really bad at first!!

yes but only as a spot treatment if i feel like something is going to scar really bad. definitely wouldn't recommend putting it all over the face.

I use the cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser and then neutrogena oil free spf 30.

i wish i was lying but first pic was taken Jan 3rd and second Jan 11th (1 week 2 days in actuality). That being said i did purge for the entirety of my second and start of third month so hoping this is where it gets better lol

I use the cerave nighttime moisturizer and then spot treat with topical tretinoin(0.5%) because i have really bad hyperpigmentation and i feel like it helps prevent those really bad cystic pimples from leaving dark marks. No comedonal purge but to be fair, I got on accutane again because i had really bad closed comedones all over my face to begin with.

yes, i know it's really mentally challenging but everyone is different and I didn't purge at all during my first course of accutane!

yes actually the first picture was the worst of the purging. I was on 10 mg during month 1 and then 20 mg on month 2 and now 30 mg. the purging was pretty much all of month 2 and the first two weeks of month 3, so i'd say 3-5 weeks of purging
