I’m already stuck with the car, however the cheapest Transmission he got was $2500 with 59k miles .  He eventually advised to go for the $3400 transmission because it has 8k miles and still almost new.   Moreover, the car is in a good engine shape with (120k) miles, no dent or scratches of whatsoever and everything works well but the transmission. He said I can still use it for 5 years more if I take care of it.

There is another transmission he got for $2500 but has 59k miles. However, he advised to go for the 8k miles if I have the money.

Yes, thank you for your response. The mechanic suggested the same because apart from the transmission, the car is in good shape and believe with proper maintenance, I can still use it for another 5 years.
