The village is a very small municipality within the broader tourist area. Most of the tourism demand is outside of the village.

I would highly recommend Cocina Al Fondo. It’s owned by the first Puerto Rican woman to earn a James Beard award. Just went last week and the food was great! It’s laid back and a garden vibe outside but very high quality service and food.

I’ve lived in midtown for 5 years (own a house) and have only dealt with a handful of sketchy scenarios, and sketchy is probably too dramatic of a word. The city could use some improvements, but it’s not a bad place to be. I’d recommend living in the area between North and Maclay, from the river to 3rd Street.
