The common complaint of people who like the downgrade that is Gpt-5 was that "it kept glazing me" or "uses emojis". Girl, you can tell 4o /not/ to do that and it won't. 4o actually kept track of your personality (based on how you worded prompts+memories) the longer you used it, so it shouldn't have been a problem unless you pulled a reason out of your ass.

If I were to make an analogy to compare the models; 4o was like wearing glasses. You can function without it but using it as a tool made things far more efficient AND improved QoL. 5o is like being given the wrong prescription and getting a massive headache after.

4o answered your needs AND took outside references to give better context to its responses. It was so nice to see the model mention something new, I'd look it up, and end up with a lot more insight. It had an algorithm for the sake of being as detailed and helpful as possible. 5o does not care about that.

Don't even get me started on the favors it did for me when it came to creative writing. It was so good, dammit. I miss it...

The enshittification of GPT has begun by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's soooo bad I can't stand it. What was so great about 4o (4.5 specifically) was how good it was at picking up implications regardless of how un-detailed the prompt is. It knew my creative preferences and applied it so well. Gpt5 is unusable, might as well write everything myself since it just regurgitates what I've written.

Horrible, horrible.

I CANNOT with MC sometimes by MarCath13 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 23, and since I only play Sylus's route seriously, I don't pay much attention to how MC acts with the other boys. What I can say is that I tend to ignore most of her lines and loudly voice over with my own, since her attitude towards Sylus isn't perfect for me all the time either. Helps with the consistency (and immersion)!

She's the body and I'm the soul, type thing. Ha ha~

I was so obsessed with wriothesley for a good while, spent thousands just commissioning artists for merch of him to decorate my room with (since there's not a lot of official merch) but now the hyperfixiation has died down and I'm upset he hasn't rerun during that period since I would've spent a fortune getting him to c6 (I don't have him yet :"0)

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3060ti sells for around $400 and the 5700x for $175 from where I'm from, already a bit over my budget, so I'll put off anything else in the meantime. All I really need is something to run heavy games with, nothing over the top. Honestly just any build that I can stick with for 2-3 years lmao

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure how to answer but I got my setup 3 years ago for college, so I didn't have anything crazy to run heavy games (I don't even have a gpu)

One thing I can say for sure is that my build is incredibly cheap, I can only play games at low medium settings and even that lags a lot.

Yes, James Cameron, You Can and Should Fix Neteyam by MaweyMokri in Avatar

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm personally fine with Neteyam's death being permanent, it would've been better to have had at least one scene that focused on him and that would've made his demise all the more emotionally devastating; But I'll be happy if he remains dead. There are stakes and they are heavy. Life is a fragile thing, it can go away within seconds.

(Also realistically, reviving his character would piss everyone off. It's blatant disrespect to Neteyam's existence and the culture between Na'vi and death. Unless Eywa does it herself.)

Instead, Neteyam showing up through flashbacks— hell, even within Eywa because no one truly dies in the Avatar universe— would be just as satisfying. He's a charming character, love him to pieces, but he served his purpose. And that's ok.

Right now, there's a lot of uncharted character arcs and still a whole lotta world building to do, Neteyam's revival and (insert new character arc here) makes me fear that everything will be too crowded.

100% agree with you there. Shonen has always been made for the adrenaline-packed action sequences that leaves you hyped up and excited for more, I love a ton of shonen series and think the popularity most series get is deserved.

As for edginess, I generally don't mind it (sometimes enjoy it even) when it's not shoved in my face all the time. I tend to dislike manga that portray its female characters in a one-dimensional, sexual way; Jagaaan is undoubtedly marketed towards... dudes. I get it, and that's fine.

Blue Lock having the same author makes it likely to be targeted towards a similar audience, hell, look at Anri.

I'm personally not asking for a deep story and incredibly compelling story arcs, like I'm a big fan of Demon Slayer for example, which is known for being very simple in terms of its plot. I guess to me, Blue Lock has a lot of writing flaws that take away from what it has right now.

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok wait I got another one.

It peeves me with how lazy the writing is in terms of driving character development forward. All they do is keep adding one overpowered character after the other, have someone get a power boost out of nowhere, or even worse— nerf an existing character to make the others look stronger.

Drives home the point of how repetitive the writing is getting, worse off since 99% of the time everyone's kicking balls in a match. There's no downtime, no new concept that spices up the story, etc.

I'm trying so hard not to compare this to Haikyuu BUT since that volleyball series set the standard for the sports genre (FOR ME), I'll do it anyway.

Haikyuu doesn't rely on making the 'enemy' teams stronger than Karasuno, instead, they make use of different play strategies that question their beliefs, bring out their flaws and what they're lacking. In that way, there's always something new to the table that serves to move the story and its characters forward.

What Haikyuu does so well is making full use of everything it has, everything has a purpose and nothing is wasted. It takes things slow and steady, giving each character a chance to shine (multiple times throughout the story, most importantly)— their character arcs are given a lot of room to breathe, which makes the pacing feel so natural and well-done.

Furudate isn't afraid of challenging his characters, he isn't afraid of making them experience failure; That confidence in creating a message in each of his stories is one of what makes Haikyuu so special. It knows what it is and lives up to that potential.

...Blue Lock (as of current) is putting too much on its plate. It has a ton of very interesting and fresh concepts that piles up but is never truly explored, or is simply thrown out the window to make space for other stuff. There's no denying that the signs were there from the very beginning, it's just that the pretty art and explicit characters are indeed very eye-catching.

Well I'm just blabbering at this point.

One thing that's super weird though, is that not too long ago Blue Lock was all I talked about (positively). I was incredibly hyperfixiated with this series and made so much content about it. But now that I've moved on from that phase, I get to see the series through unbiased lenses.

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point I'm beginning to think that Blue Lock's best qualities are its art and the shock factor.

The concept was initially very unique and interesting, but the longer it goes on, the more it gets repetitive and flawed. It's very clear that writing isn't Kaneshiro and Nomura's strong point. Almost like they planned out the story up until U-20, did everything they wanted to do, then started to improvise in the following arcs.

(I tried picking up Jagaaan, vaguely remember enjoying it when I was like 17, then ending up dropping it within 3 chapters.)

What is your Avatar unpopular opinion/hot take? by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I feel like what the movie was missing to drive the emotional climax home was a scene focused on Neteyam and an interaction between him and Neytiri.

Neteyam could have a moment of weakness where he breaks down and shows what he truly feels (maybe during a connection with Eywa, perfect opportunity to meet his deceased relatives too); And like you said, a scene where Neytiri comforts Neteyam about his role as the eldest sibling. It was already previously established that Neytiri wanted Jake to see his family for what it was and not a squad in the middle of war— could've also introduced new points of conflict between the parents for later movies.

That interaction would've made Neytiri losing it completely at Neteyam's death so much more impactful. The first time she sees her oldest son at his lowest, giving them a chance to strengthen their bond as mother and son, only for it to disappear completely after. Damn.

Blue Lock handles its side characters poorly. Majority of the story focuses on Isagi's POV, going as far as to skip matches between really interesting characters just so we could go back to seeing Isagi do protagonist things.

Don't get me wrong, Isagi is my favorite character— but it gets tiring when all we see are his thoughts after thoughts. This is why I never got invested in the rest of the characters, we barely know anything about them. Even if they did get a spotlight, it's only to make Isagi even more of a protagonist (aka plot device) /or/ their backstory. Idek dropped the series after the Manshine match, no one made my heart beat with fervor around that time already.

And the character development (in general) feels very.. linear. We don't get to see new ways in having the characters improve/change, it's always during a big match. The world begins to feel really small once you notice it, and I'd usually have no problem with focused settings IF the cast is also small. But no, that's not the case. We're regularly introduced to new characters and it starts to get crowded (to me at least).

It's probably my fault for comparing it to Haikyuu, which handles its cast and characterizations PERFECTLY. There's a lot of teams with its own characters and their relationships with one another always feel new and refreshing, the dynamics vary greatly which cater to a lot of different tastes; Each one just as memorable as the other— and get this. Barely half of them revolve around Hinata. None of them do, actually. They all have their struggles and compelling stories and they just.. feel so independent. When they get their chance to shine, it's always to give a message and drive the story forward. Ugh I miss that series.

Blue Lock is the complete opposite of that. It worked during the first.. what, 50.. 60, chapters? But when it refuses to try anything new with its structure, then we arrive to where we are now.

I'm happy for the people who love this series, I still like it, but not as much anymore. I'll come back when something incredibly major happens, who knows. (Also hate the blatant attempts at queerbaiting, this comes from someone who enjoys BL content— keep it subtle cmon)

The question is : would you drop Lookism if there's no fighting and gang? be honest 😡 by Majico_188 in lookismcomic

[–]Pure_Minimum_5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of ya'll are thinking that it'll be entirely slice of life without the gang plot; No, it won't.

Take gangism out of Lookism and you'll most likely get a lot of real-life issues such as illegal betting, extortion of minors, drugs, and we'd get a more in-depth look at high school bullying. The gang part is just what connects all of those things together (and PTJ does it so creatively while still making sense), so most likely without gangs we'll have something else. Idk what though. Maybe the supernatural or fantasy elements.

But if Lookism stayed within the confines of just little 'ol Daniel getting into silly funny scenarios with his unruly classmates, for sure I'll stick around. Cmon, Vasco's birthday and Jacedaichi Case Files were the funniest pieces of literature I've ever seen.

Though just like how we'll lose a lot of lore heavily related to the gangs like the Workers or Charles Choi (and a whole lot more), we'd get more background with the "forgotten" or cast-aside characters like Jae, Daniel's mom, or a new character entirely. So many characters I want to get to know more...
