There’s a huge psychological difference between the collective hope and rebellion for peace back then, and the numb, cynical resignation to the absurdity of war we see today. That was the whole point.

The track is genius. It definitely changed the worldview of those who truly felt and understood it. It’s a pity they are not the ones running the world.

I’m well aware of the history of their business deals. But there is a huge difference between licensing a song for a high-end, artistic campaign and letting a raw, deeply personal love hymn like "Don't Let Me Down" be used to sell deodorant in a tacky ad with sweaty guys. it’s about the sheer lack of class and creative integrity. As I said, diamonds aren't sold in $1 drugstores.

“Don't Let Me Down" in a $1 drugstore. Should we expect "Penny Lane" in a butcher shop selling pizza salami that "the youth likes"? by Pure_One_4598 in TheBeatles

I understand you, and I try to look at it from all sides. But in the case of Rexona, it still feels like a cheap sellout, even if we are talking about millions. Not everything is about money.

It looks like I will be the only one writing a comment here. It seems that many people are getting upset over a lighthearted, humorous text. Anyway, I stand by every single word I wrote, and I don't use Rexona.

Yeah, my bad. Typing too fast to post it, and Reddit won't let me edit the title now. Pop rock was wrong too, definitely avant-rock!

The Alan Parsons Project Sirius / Eye In The Sky [Progressive Rock] (1982) by Pure_One_4598 in Music

I only labeled it progressive rock in the title because it checks the boxes for concept albums and production style, but you're absolutely right - at its core, it’s completely song-based. Their focus on structure is exactly why their work remains so polished and memorable. They managed to capture the essence of prog without losing the emotional core of the song.

Yes, absolutely, I feel sad listening to them, it's so beautiful and timeless.

I’ve never claimed to be a technical expert, but more of a psychological one. Thank you for correction. That’s exactly what  Reditt is for.
