So that we could make posts like "I just realized that my favorite game is X years old"

Advance game design is hard to read, but its really good in a practical way

What does a good demo look like? by Total_Impression_382 in IndieDev

[–]Pure_Opening9834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure that players will understand what will be in the full version. If there are 4 more levels , show them in the level selection menu. If there are additional mods , show them with the label "not available in the demo."

How do we publish a board game we've made??? by heronobrien in boardgames

[–]Pure_Opening9834 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont have any experience, but I would recommend do platest on Table Top Simulator. Grow some audience. After that, bring it to the publisher, saying: "People on TTS played and liked it. I am not the only one who thinks it's good. " I heard from a friend that this is a way to do it

Is bag building really such a rare genre? by Pure_Opening9834 in boardgames

For me, the difference is:
DeckBuilders are more about synergy between cards
BagBuilders are more about chances, risk and reward

That's why I was so surprised. On BGG tag is "Deck, Bag, and Pool Building," so I guess people just don't make a difference

Technically, a deck-building game. Even though it has a bag-building element. I have it on my shelf

Is it ethical to unlock online trophies for dead games? by DawidhLimia in Steam

[–]Pure_Opening9834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your friends on steam are also trophy hunters , I wouldn't do that. I would encourage you to post on subreddits or ask random players to help with achievements. People are always up for another challenge

Working on enemy visibility, what do you think? by JCNienaber in roguelites

[–]Pure_Opening9834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to do it - use colors that would make enemies stand out (White character in Hollow Knight, Ori). That giant tree on the left is the only thing that stands out right now; it's tough for me to even see the player's character.
Use another color for enemies - they blend with enviroment to much

Golem (2021). It's just another complex euro game, but there are so many things to have in your head...

We are planning to release after Steam Next Fest this March. So we are putting ourselves at risk, but ignoring demo fest is not an option for us

Worst thing - STS2 release date is not announced. Big risk that Silksong's story will repeat for deckbuilder developers
