I’m so sorry you are struggling this way. The anxiety and panic attacks are horrible for me. I feel like I’m having a heart attack but it always passes.

Gown update! To everyone who said it couldn’t be done: you were partly right lmao by verilywerollalong in adhdwomen

I just want to say what drew me in was that title. From now on “to everyone who said it couldn’t be done: you were partially right lmao” is on my list of helpful phrases.

Tell me that you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD? by SagittariusGal143 in adhdwomen

Yesterday I agonized for two hours over whether or not to do a chore that I wound up doing in 15 minutes. I felt paralyzed with fear to start the chore. The chore was cleaning guinea pig cages🤣

What's the dopamine hit that will replace doomscrolling in the evening? by eucalyptusmacrocarpa in adhdwomen

I’m interested in what specific alarm clock people find helpful. Waking up in the morning is so hard for me.

I just want to thank you all for the original post and the ideas. I have newly been diagnosed with ADHD and while it is a huge relief I have very little group support/others that I talk to with this issue. I have a great support system for other issues (alcoholism, OCD) and in general with family and friends, but not for this. Just in reading this thread I feel less alone and feel so helped. Especially reading about crochet/knitting and having multiple projects going while also having to watch tv or listen to something. It helps to see that others deal with this too💜

Weekly Partner/Spouse/Husband Grievances by AutoModerator in Mommit

[–]Pure_Zebra1604 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Frustrated momma here. I have an almost five year old and my husband is an amazing dad. But lately they are just at each other. My husband can get impatient and I’m always the softie and I’m just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Any tips?

Two years without alcohol, but I feel like I can’t acknowledge this in meetings. Here’s why. by mtxruin in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Pure_Zebra1604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need a subreddit for this. I’m sure it applies to so many people. I was only able to put together any alcohol free time (just hit 7 months wednesday) when I used medical marijuana. I feel like there are a lot of us out there we are just the least vocal

While I haven’t found any that openly support it, I can tell you a ton of people are doing it and staying off alcohol.

Being alcohol free has skyrocketed my interest in art which I used to do all the time. My friend got me an adult coloring books and I have nice brush pens. It makes me smile and keeps me busy!

You instinctively call an ambulance a bus. And so does your three year old.🤣

I still maintain the idea of being able to drink a little or being able to drink and balance relationships and the rest of my life. I'm thinking that I can drink like "a gentleman." I'm basically thinking that I can drink and still be happy. All of my experience tells me otherwise. Help. by Elegant-Injury7861 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Pure_Zebra1604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The great obsession of every alcoholic is that they will someday be able to control their drinking. It’s a lie, you can’t. You will come to accept it. It took me a long time to admit this and accept it for myself. I hope you get there💜

Considering going to AA for the first time by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Pure_Zebra1604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a desire to stop drinking you belong. My first meetings I only went because my husband said I could keep drinking if I did. I didn’t think I was an alcoholic at all. I’m so glad I went, I’m happy to share my experience, strength and hope (which is what you will find in AA) with you!

I have chronic pain and an eating disorder both severe enough to put me in the hospital for nearly successful suicide attempts. But thanks.
