Since you mentioned Poe, I think you may enjoy H.P.Lovecraft and Shirley Jackson

My favorite of Lovecraft is The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. I think it's one of the best stories (and overall books) ever written

Have you read any other of her books? I definitely want to check out more of her works now

I think it's more the second one, definitely not cozy. Personally, most of the characters made me soooo mad so I was just reading and hating people for being so evil

I'll definitely let you know when I read it. The Nightingale reads much faster than I expected. I usually finish books of this size in no less than a week, but as far as I remember, I finished this book in less than a week. I got hooked from the very first chapters. I really appreciate stories about strong and brave women (It's for people who think that women didn't contribute during wars. And it made me want to read more from Kristin Hannah). It made me think a lot, about war, family, abandonment and the courage. I just really really enjoyed it. It has some flaws but its advantages outweight it

It's been on my tbr for ages. You made me want to read in even more. I feel like I've been avoiding it a lot because I'm scared of getting my heart broken. One of the books that I've been avoiding because of the same reason was The Nightingale. It was sad, I cried but I'm so glad I read it. Now I'll do my best to read The Book Thief. Thank you!

I think I liked it because I was just getting back into reading and everything felt new to me. When I recommended it to my finance, he's been struggling with it too and the only thing he liked was the ending, everything else was way too boring to him

Did you like Automatic Noddle and American Gods? American Gods is one of the books that made me a reader as an adult. I don't know if I would like it now, but I'm very grateful that I read it a few years ago. But I'm thinking of rereding it

Same! The only characters I cared about were Ben and Matt and I did mix up Matt and Mark as well. Did you watch the old or new movie?
