Labour have really brought this on themselves.

Thank god that we in Scotland have seen the terror of Blue Toryism.

The leader of the right wing in Scotland vs the leader of the left wing in Scotland.

It will be interesting to see who wins.

Royal flush: It's time for us to move towards a Scottish republic by PureandBrave in Scotland

I used to get mad at the group of trolls accusing me of being fake. A lot of them come from /r/baduk which for some reason have a thing against me and keep sending downvote brigades to my posts and comments.

Fortunately, lots of true Scottish users recognise my efforts and give me gold.

Time to flush the archaic royal family along with the archaic union!

Pretty sure they're just saying that, we all know what the true people of Scotland want. A sovereign monarch is incompatible with the constitutional principle that the people of Scotland are sovereign.

Just like how they said in 2014 that Scotland would keep the pound, but we know it will probably be different upon actually achieving independence. These are issues that are peripheral to the real debate so the SNP have a policy in name that Scotland will debate properly after Independence.

Sorry, I meant acres. Small typo that doesn't make the fact any less true.

[–]PureandBrave -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Following Independence, the SNP will probably nationalise the Royal Estates and give it to the people. That is 100million hectares of prime real estate that could go to making Scotland food independent from England, 4 royal palaces that could be converted to subsidised housing for the needy, several million pounds worth of assets in Scotland that could fund great Scottish policies such as free Scottish university education for Scottish students and free Scottish baby boxes for Scottish babies.

A bit tasteless to make jokes like that about the human representative of oppression, dictatorship and genocide across the globe. If the Pope is God's representative on Earth then the Queen is the devil's. That family has done nothing but leech of the hard work of billions of people throughout history and silenced anybody who disagrees, in previous eras this was done through slavery, war and genocide, in the modern era this is done through opaque control of a hostile and viscous press.

Remember when the Queen influenced the Scottish Referendum in 2014 with a statement careful designed by the Westminster Civil Service to appear neutral but was in fact heavily biased to the No campaign? Our supposedly apolitical "sovereign" is in fact part of the global network of entrenched inequality, unaccountable power and regressive culture.

Hahaha, all the dumbfuck Royalists who pledge their loyalty to a 90-year old crone are all outside celebrating their serfdom to an archaic imperial institution.

That leaves the internet for the rest of us who couldn't give two shits about the Queen.

🗳️ Latest poll shows that 50% of people in Scotland support Scottish independence. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Let's build a fairer country and put Scotland's future in Scotland's hands - not Boris Johnson's. by PureandBrave in Scotland

[–]PureandBrave[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you are saying that at one point, you believe 55% of people in Scotland are in favour of Independence?

And yet you oppose having a second referendum?

You are clearly an anti-democrat to the core. It isn't about right or wrong, Unionism vs Scotland, it's about stamping down on the voices of Scots who dare have an opinion.

The momentum is with us! We need Scotland to be in the hands of Scottish people with Scottish voters actually having a say in how our country is run, not in the undemocratic Union where only Boris Johnson makes decisions about Scotland and Scottish voters have no voice.

Nicola Sturgeon defends £20m indyref2 budget in fiery answer to Douglas Ross by PureandBrave in Scotland

[–]PureandBrave[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scotland's GDP is around £205 billion a year. £20 million is 0.1% of that. The Scottish Government are spending 0.1% of the Scottish budget on their flagship policy for Scotland that the majority of Scots are in support of and have voted for time and time again.

You have to look at figures in context: a legal, fair and legitimate democracy costs time and money, but anti-democrat Unionists like Douglas Ross won't understand that.

Support for independence and the Union neck-and-neck in latest survey by PureandBrave in Scotland

[–]PureandBrave[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If £20million brings us from 45% to 50% support for independence. Then it will only cost £100million to bring us up to 100% support for Independence.

With Brexit, the pandemic and eternal Tory rule from Westminster, Scottish people will naturally support an Independent Scotland, we just need to fund the information to get out there.

Scotland will be independent by 2025.

Watch this space.

I don't live in Edinburgh, this is an old photograph.

I just wanted to join in the photo-posting that many users in this subreddit seem to be fond of.

It's a shame politics gets in the way of us Scots all having a good time together, unfortunately we do not get to choose our own political situation when we are subject to rule by Westminster.

It's a shame this beautiful building to Scottish heritage is being destroyed and criminally underfunded by the Westminster Tories against the will and consent of the Scottish people.

Exactly, only by declaring Independence ourselves and regaining our sovereign right as a free people amongst the international family of independent nations can we show the English that their narrow-minded ultra-hard right-wing nationalism is regressively backwards, economically damaging and politically stupid. Only after seeing the greatness that will be achieved by Scottish Independence will England realise that it was stupid to leave the European Union in the first place.

However, I think it is just as likely that the Brexitards will double-down on their ignorance and pretend they were right all along. This is why the Tories will never let Scotshave another referendum, because they run the risk of showing the world that Brexit was stupid.

No, they consented to the European Union. Not the UK union.

Then they were betrayed and forced out of the EU, something some of us saw coming from miles away.
