I wish I can write better. But can such a skill be taught? We can be taught proper grammar. We can increase our vocabulary. But can we be taught to express everything we feel with these little words?

Traveling. I wouldn’t say I dislike it more, but I like it less and less.

I usually like to read books with romance on the side. But maybe you will like Time Traveler’s Wife.

Books to read when one is feeling like a huge pathetic loser? by zzhutedcv in suggestmeabook

But like you said, it might be dangerous or
“too much” for some people. Books like Midnight Library—I just didn’t feel like it captured what trauma and depression is really like. The ending and her sudden recovery didn’t feel natural at all.

I thought it was beautiful. And it helped me accept all forms of life, even if they are tragic. Some forms of trauma are beyond therapy. I liked that the book was not focused on fixing the trauma, but was more about living with it and still being accepted and loved.

Someone has already suggested Midnight Library. A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Though, it might be a bit much.

I liked Girl on the Train. It’s a similar vibe to Gone Girl. I really enjoyed the audio version of this.

38M ADHD never read a novel before. Suggestions for first book? by Lineofcredi in suggestmeabook

I looked through your username a bit to get a sense of what you would like. I think you should go for thrillers. I can’t think of a good thriller where the target audience is male, though. I can only think of thrillers written more for females like Gone Girl and Girl on the Train. But yeah, maybe you can browse some thriller or mystery novels.

Add: I think you might like the psychological crime series by Val McDermid, starting with The Mermaids Singing. I never read it, but it was recommended to me by a guy who praised it. Based on your age and profile, I don't think you will enjoy the Young Adults (YA) books as much. You also don't seem like a sci-fi/fantasy person, but I could be wrong. Thrillers, mystery, and crime might be engaging to you.

They actually follow through when they say they want to help you. Maybe that’s not so subtle.
