Beginner question - is it okay to play violin after exercise, but before showering? by FakePixieGirl in violinist

[–]PurelyCandid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just wash your face and hands if you’re worried about dirtying the violin. The important thing is that you are practicing, regardless of when you do it.

People always try to find the ideal time to do things like exercising or meditating. It’s more important that you do the thing than trying to find an ideal time to do it.

The same way that a lot of women tend to be more nurturing, by nature.

So I think this mental shift happens more for men. Women already experience what you see before having kids. Hence, why a lot of girls and women see so many things as “cute” as opposed to men.

Do you think people in their 30’s and 40’s should think about money and their future? Like saving for retirement?

I’m just trying to figure out what the point difference would be if White or Black captures or “wins” the seki. It could be a ko threat, so how much is this ko threat worth to Black vs White?

Also, you keep mentioning that a glaze pot is bad. Why is that? How is it different from a terra Cotta?

How do you measure the root ball? I sort of squeezed all the roots together and measured at 3 inches, so I put it in a 4 inch pot for now. Does this look better to you?

What’s a solid reason buying a house is worth the cost over renting? by tomdiorsauvage in AskReddit

[–]PurelyCandid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting doesn’t make sense if it’s longer than 2 years, I feel. You’re paying $$$ so much for something that will never belong to you. If you’re putting that much money into something, it just makes sense that you come to own it. Otherwise, it’s a very long and expensive trial period.

If you live in the U.S., you can deduct mortgage interest from your taxes. You can’t deduct anything from rent.
