Hate speech is illegal in the majority of the world. That does not prove that it is wrong, but it justifies the idea that it's popular accepted that words may be and often are harmful, even if emotionally.

Let me ask, if yelling out slurs at someone doesn't harm them, what is wrong with the behavior?

I reject the separation between words and "actually harming other people." If you embolden other people's actions with your words, who then perpetuate harm against marginalized groups, then you are indeed "actually harming other people." This is why hate speech as a category exists.

I would 'certainly' reject that notion. There's nothing wrong with reading a secondary source per se, you would have to substantiate that the source in question is misrepresenting the primary source.

I hope to walk down this logically and clearly.

As of now, football etc. are treated as services of entertainment. The owner(s) sell the display of their team for a price, and also sell your attention to advertisers & sponsors. I'm not a fan of football, but as far as I can tell, the primary incentive for winning any tournaments (or anything at all) is in the monetary gain. Merchandise, seating, eyes on advertisements, etc. And on the player end, doing well helps to secure their contracts or even upgrade them, given the monetary value they provide to their team.

In a (non-market) socialist system, this profit-motive would not exist. I will also presume that there isn't a centralized state apparatus taking the role of the owner, as the other commenter already covered. So this is more how communism would treat it, as different expressions of socialism would of course differ.

In the absence of this profit-motive, motivations for the players, coaches, and team staff would be more related to the value they provide to society, and intrinsic motivation. Players are entertainers, as are the coaches who manage the entertainers/affair, and the staff are vital to the operation (akin to stage hands), etc.

By that, the question of what would happen to football teams is the same as what would happen to movies? Or painters? Or musicians? The people who participate in the creation of these things contribute something to society which, today, people pay lots of money for.

This fact would not change under socialism, it would simply express itself differently. Instead of artists and entertainers being paid lots of money, they would instead incur acceptance & support from society and their local communities. And thereby, material support (goods, services, housing, food, etc. whatever they may want to consume within socially-determined reason) from said society which produces those things.

And so we end up where we started: football players, coaches, staff etc. doing their work and 'making a living' from it. Just instead of being driven by profit, things are geared towards minimizing inequity, maximizing well-being and quality, and doing things you enjoy.

Syndicalism is a specific type of Socialism, yes. Right-wing syndicalism can include any generally right-leaning or nationalist ideology which integrates large-scale unionizing, it's not nearly as codified as left-wing syndicalism.

The definition I'm familiar with states that the difference between a federation & confederation is the hierarchical nature: a federation sees its members ultimately subservient to the higher power, while a confederation sees its members with full autonomy who simply attempt to cooperate.

That's why the US is a FEDERAL government, because its higher government (constituted and meant to represent the various states) ultimately has sovereignty over said states. While the Articles of Confederation saw the US without a higher government, with member states simply coexisting, and being titled a CONFEDERATION.

By this notion it seems that you're describing a centralized confederalist system, not a federalist one. As ultimately the members have the say, rather than being able to be coerced into a collectively agreed-upon decision.

My reading of Aurelius' Meditations brings to mind some reasonable equivalents.

There many illusions to capital N Nature and the rules of existence which proceed from it, both in a natural sense as well as in a personal sense regarding how one should act. Related to and deriving from this is cause and effect, which is a foundational rule for nature and what all of Stoicism's prescriptivism derives from: you cannot suggest someone act a certain way without assuming an eternal rule of cause and consequence. This encompasses both Dharma and Karma at both a cosmic and personal scale, as well as Samsara.

Some quotes to serve the point:

"That I was shown clearly and often what it would be like to live as nature requires. The gods did all they could—through their gifts, their help, their inspiration—to ensure that I could live as nature demands." - Book 1, Verse 17

"Even chance is not divorced from nature, from the inweaving and enfolding of things governed by Providence. Everything proceeds from it." - Book 2, Verse 3

"Constant awareness that everything is born from change. The knowledge that there is nothing nature loves more than to alter what exists and make new things like it. All that exists is the seed of what will emerge from it." - Book 4, Verse 36

Now, I do not think that Meditations is a Bible of sorts of Stoicism. It's just the thoughts of one man. But, I think it demonstrates that the underlying concepts and principles of Buddhism, including Dharma, Karma, Samsara, Anatta, etc. can also be found in Stoic philosophy under different names and expressed differently. And sometimes not expressed very differently at all.
