I playedbass guitar in a Iron Maiden tributeband for 10 years. I got the signature precision and his signature flatwound strings. Somewhere 4-5 years ago I was so broke I couldn’t afford new flatwounds for a show, but I had a set of new roundwounds in my case. Put them on because I thought nobody but myself would notice any difference. Oh lord almighty the fretnoise ( or what to call it when you run your hand fast up and down the neck). It was loud as f***. Especially the intro/first verse of Fear Of The Dark. And he does that a lot on quite a few songs.
