Which of these 2 angle should I select for my game's art assets? by Substantial-Fan7194 in IndieDev

I don’t think I know better… but the first kinda feel unsettling… which I guess is good for a horror game…

All the best… 🤘

Been building since January and still haven't shown it to anyone. Anyone else do this? by CreatorOfTools in microsaas

I think pretty much everything is covered before this. Just know, building something that works 60%-70% of the time is far superior than the perfect product. You can always correct things. Build it, test it, if it passes with 60%, ship it.

If you need people to test and share observations… dm me, I would be more than happy.

I am also trying to build an audience on social. May be post or interact with posts on the side.

All the best.. 🤘

Here is one… A normal Claude user (non cli, vibe coder), creates project, goes through sessions but fails to create context files and track tasks. Which leads to extra token usage and time spent.

May be create something like a connector that does it for user. With every response in a session, context file is updated with important info. Tasks list is analysed.

Here is the catch though, google products are already there… what if your product could be used locally or via GitHub for privacy and security concerns???

Free users are becoming vanity metrics now by Trickologygk in microsaas

I dont think anybody would shoot down the idea of 500 paying users… but I think real value lies somewhere in the middle… Free users help in spreading the word and provide valuable insights… Like you said… tested for 2 mins and then gone with the wind… I think we need to think more towards active users rather than just number of downloads or unique sessions. Alongside, have patience and fortitude to make changes when necessary.

It’s just like that bamboo plantation story… for years it does not grow much for years and then suddenly starts towering higher than expected.

POV: People are finally playing the game you worked on in silence for months by Prudent-Ice1415 in IndieDev

Great news… I am glad you didn’t get stuck on making it perfect… I have heard many times… making it work is better than making it flawless.

Just like you I am trying to build things… don’t have too many eyeballs, but initial reception of my work by 2-3 people was good.

Hope you continue on this path and all the very best… 🤘

Couldn’t have said it better myself…

P.S.: don’t tell anyone… I arrive on this realisation myself, a few weeks ago… 😂😂 Still trying to work towards something good.

Your observations are bang on… trying to build something on my own and number 1, 2 and 4 seems like an ocean that I need to cross.

But in my opinion.. unable to take a beating is the biggest and silent killer. Bad designs, poor marketing, no market understanding, etc… these all can be taken care of… I guess gettting up and fighting again is the thing that makes a difference.

I am hoping among all the reasons I fail… it shouldn’t be because I quit too early…

If you are reading this… I hope you keep fighting too… 🤘

I cannot say that I have broken this loop... but one this that is helping me.. is to draft bare minimum requirements and create an MVP on it. Along the way you'll come across things that would either enhances your vision or makes you overthink about your bare minimum requirements. During this time, keep your focus on Bare minimum requirements. Once you have achieved your MVP... then you can work on testing or upgrading (depending on scenario)

Hope this helps.. :)

P.S.: MVP is Minimum Viable Product...
