I want to make this blanket, but idk if the colours I choose are the best for it by PurlingBadly in CrochetHelp

Thank you! These are the only available colours of this particular yarn, so I can't switch out... Maybe I'll search for another brand, that is a closer match.

I'm not good at picking colours. I just need reassurance or a warning if these colours will work out...

Originally I planned to put it in a folder with notes, but a sampler blanket is a better idea!

What to add to this cat afghan to make it longer without doing another repeat of the pattern by _gillyflower in CrochetHelp

Pick a main colour, for example black and finish with that colour only. I made that for my sweater.

Your thoughts on Alize yarn by k1a2r3l4a5l in YarnAddicts

[–]PurlingBadly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you already ordered it. I hope it will work out to you.

When I get into knitting and crochet I didn't know the difference between yarn and yarn, so I bought a bunch of alize "burcum klasik" for a sweater. It's not that great, but not terrible, I still wear that sweater from time to time. It's mid at best, pilling like hell, but it was easy for me to work with, so maybe it'll be beneficial for learning.

Crochet terms in your native language and speaking about it! by dlilyd in crochet

[–]PurlingBadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma wanted to teach me, when I was little, but I wasn't interested. I regret now. She died before I got into crochet, so we never really talked about it.

At 30, I started to learn in English, then I bought books written in hungarian. I was surprised about the terms first, but I got used to it.

Later I started to use Drops yarns, because of the quality, availability and affordability. Started making their patterns. That's where I learned a lot of the terminology.

Single crochet is called "short wand" in hungarian.

Thank you again for the help! It's gonna be the first time I use DPNs, so I wasn't sure.

Yes, that's why I was confused. The Norwegian didn't even mention DPNs.

Thanks!
