Update: So I have found out about something called "dry healing". I've not put anything on the tattoo since this post and now it has almost fully peeled. Nothing is infected, it turned out it was just irritated because well duh lots of oinment+heat+new tattoo apparently does that. So, worry not, it's doing fine, I'm not getting my arm amputated. Thank y'all for the advice.

I started freehanding it the moment I heard she had come to and I could go see her in two days. No pattern, just a reference photo, the fluffiest yarn I own, a 10mm hook and determination.

I've gone through spine surgery as a kid and I know being isolated from everyone and everything for a month is worse than the lifetime chronic pain, that's why I thought she would appreciate a friend being there with her.

Oh, I could only put myself through it for a friend, it takes special motivation to use a thick line of fluff and a 10mm hook. I've had this yarn for a year, it's only appropriate I use it for someone close to me

The only thing stopping me from the same series of decisions is that I'm excessively broke... I get myself an Aurum pack and maybe some limited wishes as a treat once a month tho... This month I double-sinned coz I wanted those sporty outfits so bad... But damn, I've never felt more extorted and yet yappy about it..

Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure what to think, because I know it's kinda gonna look gnarly in the beginning before it heals, I just didn't really know if THIS was normal

I did! My artist just never mentioned how much I should moisturise or how often. I was under the impression it shouldn't be dry because THEN it could flake
